@Izzie,
Funny, Izzie. I knew about Jerry's Kids, but the only "red nose" I have ever heard was the one owned by Rudolph. Razz

boomer had a question about whistling songs and it inspired me to play this one, y'all.

@Letty,
Good morning, Letty, and all. It's very chilly here in BC at the moment.

Got a song that will warm us up?

@Reyn,
Reyn, great to see you on our wee cyber radio station, Canada.

Hmmm, well it's Carrie Underwood's birthday. What if we let her warm you up. Razz

Good afternoon peoples. Here is the original record of This Magic Moment. The Drifters, with Ben E King, were possibly the first rock artists to use strings.

Thanks, that was nice, but was hoping for a weather-related song that would make me feel a lot warmer. Laughing

We've got winds blowing too, making it even colder. Brrrr....

edgar, love your Magic Moment. Ah, the early beginnings of soul. Had to research your Carrie and Jethro. Funny, Texas!

Reyn, you don't want a heat wave. Trust me. I do have to say those gals are good, however.

Here's one that will warm the cockles of your heart, Reyn.

I would only like a heat wave in the winter. In the summer, I get cranky if it gets too hot. Laughing

Lovely music, by the way.

Izzie, great one by Dire Straits. I recall that movie with Leonardo, but don't remember too much about it. Thanks, gal.

My word, edgar. I remember that song, but don't recall Jimmy Boyd. I noticed that he also sang..

O Little playmate,
Come out and play with me, etc.

How sad, Texas, but what beauty and fun he bought to the kids.

Ok. Here's a scene from the movie Romeo and Juliet and now I will spend the rest of my day trying to recall the Chopin song that is played on guitar.

Ah,the eternal love story. In another love story, Paul Anka had it for a girl, who rejected him. He wrote this hit song about it. She wanted to get to know him better after that, but he was alreay over her.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Paul Anka never ceases to amaze me. When I discovered that he had writtten the lyrics to My Way, I was stunned. It does help to know the backgound of a musician. Thanks for Diana, Texas.

Well, I just did a complete run through of Tai Chi's school house renovation and it really brought back memories. There was our dj standing on a ladder with a hammer in his hand.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do it with two songs. One, a great jazz ballad, and, thanks to JPB, the Chopin classic for which I was searching.

First the jazz.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDJrCPlWENg&feature=related

Now the classical piece.

A lovely way to spend an evening, right?

As always,

From Letty with love

@edgarblythe,
We're still dreaming of spring here, edgar, but songs like this make the long winter easier to endure.

Good morning to all from WA2K radio.

edgar, never heard Billy Swan before, but I really like "I Can Help". Thanks, Texas.

JPB, Welcome back. Love Vivaldi's winter classic. Every season has its glory and thanks, gal.

Hey, Brit. Tony Christie is awesome. Listened to "Danger is a Woman in Love" and "Louise". Your second song really touched a nerve. Thanks. ModMan.

Today is Bobby McFerrin's birthday, and although he is best known for "Don't Worry; be Happy", I find his talent far beyond that song, y'all. Delighted to discover that his father was a performer in The Metropolitan Opera.

We can use a little humor in our lives, so here he is doing The Wizard.
