@Izzie,
Izzie, loved that song by Paul. Had to search out the film ,Lake House. Sounds like my type of movie.

Here's one of my favorites by The Beatles, but this version is done by Paul alone, folks.

First, Penny Lane, then since today is Fats Domino's birthday, one of my favs by him and Ricky Nelson. Odd that Fats survived Katrina and Ricky is no longer with us.

Kirk Douglas just posted this on his Myspace blog:

They say I'm the oldest blogger on MySpace, perhaps that's true, but now I might be the oldest actor to do a one man show. I took a deep breath and I committed to do the show that I have written at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on Friday March 6th, Sunday, March 8th, Friday, March 13th and Sunday, March 15th. If you don't get to see it, I'll tell you later what happens.

edgar, loved your Marty song. I guess we all sing the blues occasionally. Also, your quote from Kirk Douglas was great.

dj, you are one helluva technician. That was an unusual song, and I've never heard it before. You surprised, Canada? Had a wee bit of trouble with my studio speakers, however. Thanks, buddy.

A look at Kirk today and a memory, folks.

A tribute to him, also.

I think that most of us know that he also did Vincent Van Gogh as well.

@djjd62,
Doesn't matter, dj. I was just amazed at the smallness of the thing. Often that happens with YouTube as well.

Guess whose birthday is also today, folks.

My favorite by the "Man in Black"

Let's Face It is listed on Kirk's site as one of his favorite books. His other favorites are by the same author. His favorite movies are starring that person also.

@edgarblythe,
Strange, edgar, I was just humming, "Ruby, don't take your love to town."

Never heard that one by Johnny, but it was really great. Thanks, Texas.

Today is Victor Hugo's birthday and I was amazed at the popularity of his book Les Miserables.

Found this surprising bit of info, y'all.

the book was a great commercial success. First translated into foreign languages (including Italian, Greek and Portuguese) the same year it originally appeared, it proved popular not only in France, but across Europe.

It has been a popular book ever since it was published, and was a great favorite among the Confederate soldiers of the American Civil War, who called it "Lee's Miserables" (a reference to their deteriorating conditions under General Robert E. Lee). Its popularity continues to this day, and it is viewed by many as one of the most important novels written.

So, my goodnight song will be this one, all.

So nice to have a Canuck, and two Brits with us this evening.

As always,

From Letty with love

My favorite film version of Les Miserables stars Frederick March and Charles Laughton. I have not seen the musical.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.

edgar, that was an amazing clip from the movie, Texas. Never saw that one, however. Ah, how long ago we took a trip through the sewers of Paris. I think I might have seen the one with Anthony Perkins, but not certain y'all. The Fugitive starring David Jansen was inspired by Les Miserables it seems.

Hope our puppy is all right.

Loved that song that our dys played on the upright piano. Thanks cowboy.

Hey, Brit. great songs. I especially liked the fabulous sax by David Sanborn. Don't you Englishmen get a weekend that's work free?

Quote of the day, folks.

William Blake
Every night, and every morn,
Some to misery are born.
Every morn, and every night,
Some are born to sweet delight.
Some are born to sweet delight.
Some are born to endless night.

Here's one from dear Billie who understood what that meant, I'm afraid.
