I was moved to read up a bit on Ferlin Husky. Before he was Ferlin, he was Terry Preston, and at the same time he was Ferlin, he was also Simon Crum.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that song by Ferlin AKA Simon was fabulous. What a mimic. Strangely he sounded like Kitty, too. Loved it.

Speaking of funny, y'all, today is Zeppo Marx's birthday. I didn't even know there was a Zeppo.

and from the past, folks. (see if you can pick out Zeppo)

I had to leave that thread, to keep from saying things I might later regret. We Are the World is one of my top favorite songs.

@edgarblythe,
It was Amigo. He's a goodun isn't he. Seems very popular. I'm confused. I find it hard to believe anyone could think that which is why I had to ask - but I'm pretty naive - perhaps people do, or they are devils advocating.

Yep, I like that song too. Thanku. x

@Izzie,
Welcome back, Izzie. Yes, We are the world in many ways. Thank you for the reminder and the song with so many familiar faces and voices.

Not certain to what you refer, but I do know Amigo. Perhaps you will explain, dear lady.

Time for me to say goodnight, and perhaps we need this one from Ray Stevens, y'all.

Until tomorrow,

From Letty with love

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, Dave's "Children" was quite unusual, but I assume you understand the background, Texas, and thanks.

Hey, Brit. Mongo Santamaria was fabulous. Love that Latin beat. Great way to begin the day. Hmmm, the drummer reminded me of our Setanta. The trumpet man's mute was interesting. It's called innovation, methinks.

Loved Ruben Blades, especially the flute

I guess the only one with whom I was familiar was Ray and the Duke. Great acoustic bass, and so in tune. Difficult to do, I am given to understand.

Here's a morning song that is new to me, folks, and although I have never heard if, it seems to be a comment on pollution. The Coral is referred to as the "silent" British invasion.

Hey Letty, Egdar, Baz & WA2K

Gosh Letty, you were up early thismorning. Mind you - I was woken by workmen at 8am - said I couldn't cope with them drilling holes in my walls today (it was supposed to be tomorrow) - so they went - but once awake.... Would be nice to be sitting on the beach with you with a nice cuppa and having a chat. Hope a good day is heading your way lovely. x

Good morning. Don't have time to listen to all the new additions just now. I did check out the silent invasion, though. Not bad.

Izzie, loved that Ebony and Ivory. Great statement in a song. I stayed up to watch Cold Case, and it was about the women who worked in WWII. Here is one of the songs that they played in the background.

edgar, that was an interesting song. Never heard it, but it was different.

@edgarblythe,
We know the bloody red baron, edgar. (loved that snoopy song).

Here's another one that they played on Cold Case.

Incidentally, the lady's husband pushed her off the ramp because she liked working, and it wasn't proper for a woman to work outside the home in those days.
