@Letty,
Oh Letty - glad daughter is doing good and son's rose is coming back... (hugs)

'aint life strange.....

that song.... when I was kid there was a TV programme called "Opportunity Knocks".... it was where people wrote in and asked to sing songs on the TV - a kind of competition with Hughie Green.... HA - a friend of mine and I wrote in when we were around 11-12years old asking to do "Sing a Rainbow" , "Sing" (Carpenters) and this one....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgnzNCSlfro&feature=related

When I was 5, maybe 6, I was in a play at my primary school - I wore a long pink taffetta dress with a white faux fur ruff and performed this on stage with a dozen or so other kiddies dressed identically to me..... and sang "I'm on the, top of the world...."

(I am the worst singer in the world - HA!)

........

yesterday, I took this photo! The first signs of spring.... the roses are coming

http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo324/IzzieLzzie/DSC05719.jpg

.... as for a man's world - oh girl - you and I live with our heart sleeves don't we - it's a girls world too - but I do miss the man I fell in love with 2 years ago - terribly - that was heaven. Nem'mind.

Hey.... did I read that it was our TicoM's birthday????????????????? Did I miss that? Sad

@Izzie,
Ah, Izzie, first an explanation about Ticomaya. His avatar is this guy, so when I saw that Arnold Schwarzenegger was having a birthday, naturally I made a joke.

http://www.pathguy.com/arnold_cigar.jpg

Your picture of that rose looks EXACTLY like the one that I was speaking of. Weird.

I can picture little Izzie doing Top of the World by Karen Carpenter. So very sad about her death by anorexia nervosa.

Well, honey, I wasn't exactly eleven, but I did sing this one.

@Letty,
Ahhhhhh ... love that one too. Yep - eating disorders - self harm tho some see it differently - very very sad - mental health issues. Talking of which Lena Zavaroni also died from anorexia... she was discovered on Opportunity Knocks. (circles within circles)

I bet you sang like an angel - have you got anything recorded.... can you send me anything - I would love to hear your voice.

Beautiful voices.... here's Katie with a song that means heaps to me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsI5fs-GVEU

waves to Edgar... hope all is good with you and MrsEd is doing well with her healing - didn't see your post just then. x

@Izzie,
I missed edgar as well, Izzie, and Katie's song was lovely. Especially liked the acoustic guitar.(sent you a message of explanation)

My goodness, edgar. My older sister was in love with a guy named Buddy at the time, and I recall having heard him sing Linda because that's all that she sang. Also saw that he sang South of the Border. Still don't know why I know that (my brother sang it if you recall), but here's Marty Robbin's version.

Where did edgar go?

Time for me to say goodnight, and I was inspired to do this one from the picture connection. There are two versions of this song, and I think that I shall do them both. The one with Gilda Radner and Dom, was Gilda's last performance and then she became quite ill.

First a barbershop rendition.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84-tEbAHx28&feature=related

Now Gilda and Dom.(funny)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpNMYntemw4

Another memory.

Noddy to Seed when he got me confused with her.

Seed--

Not to worry. Lettie is a good person. Being confused with Lettie is flattering.

As always,

From Letty (not Lettie, Noddy)

With love

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, Loved your goodnight song, and The Morning Side of the Mountain was also done by Marie and Donny Osmond. Like your version as well.

Speaking of the Beatles, there was someone on our forum whose epithet was cello. We discussed learning other languages via music.

Here's a perfect example by Sir Paul, folks.

Hey, Brit. We especially like the Kinks tribute but Kool and the Gang were great as well.

Well, there's our puppy back. Fantastic collage today, and I hope the white stuff will stay away.

Let's let Sidney echo all the contributions.

I always sort of thought Buffy wrote this song about Bob Dylan, but it has not been verified for me.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar. I love that song by Buffy. She sounds different in everything she does. "...skinny as a wire..." Love that line. Probably was for Bob Dylan.

What a surprise to discover that Edward Albert is the son of Eddie Albert, folks.

Here's a tribute to him.

@edgarblythe,
Fantastic, edgar. Your Deano and Phil song gave me another nudge. I had forgotten about the Disney film AristoCats.

Let's listen to Scatman (I think he's playing a tenor ukulele)and Phil remember for us, folks.

I had to wait a while to listen to Scatman and Phil, because it wouldn't load at first. I also like Scatman's version of Ghost Riders in the Sky

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I like it as well. The only thing that I have heard by The Animals is The House of the Rising Sun. Thanks, Texas.

How could I have missed Nancy Wilson. This is one of my favorites by her, y'all, and if you'll notice, the piano man plays a riff of an "old blue eyes" song at the end; however, the one I'm gonna do is by someone else.

First, Nancy.

Now the ID by the piano man.
