Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, don't remember the song with which you said goodnight, but thanks, Texas. I liked Joanne by the Playmates.

Hey, Rocky. Welcome back. It's not a mandate on our cyber radio to listen to music that reflects today's celebrities. I liked White Knights as well,

How about a couple of legends this morning, folks.

WorldI Used to Know is a particular favorite of mine. I used to listen to the Jimmy Rodgers version quite a lot. Didn't really get into the Legend, however. Enjoyed rockhead's video.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for that Jimmie Rodgers memory. He had a good voice, and I am delighted that Art and Paul are together again. Strange, that's the song firefly referred to when I invited her/him here. Wonder where that lightning bug is glowing now, folks?

How about a symphony for Sunday. I am particularly fascinated with the way the conductor keeps his eyes closed througout Eroica, Part I. My mom used to play piano and sing while her eyes were closed.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, that should have been a symphony for MONDAY.

Thanks, edgar, for that Johnny Rodriguez song. It's different, and I have not heard it before. Good looking kid.

Wow! Loved that Bob Dylan song, Texas. I watched and listened twice to see if I could name all the animals. What a talent he is.

Today is President's Day in the U.S. and here's a funny tribute to all of them from some more animals.

Back later with news from "presidents in history", folks

I am not surprised at this, folks.

Mon., Feb. 16, 2009
WASHINGTON - Just days after Americans honored the 200th anniversary of his birth, 65 historians ranked Abraham Lincoln as the best U.S. president.
Former President George W. Bush, who left office last month, was ranked 36th out of the 42 men who had been chief executive by the end of 2008, according to a survey conducted by the cable channel C-SPAN.
Bush scored lowest in international relations, where he was ranked 41st, and in economic management, where he was ranked 40th. His highest ranking, 24th, was in the category of pursuing equal justice for all. He was ranked 25th in crisis leadership and vision and agenda setting.

The rest of the story is here.

I read that survey, letty. The positions of many of those men will shift for a long time to come. I do agree that Lincoln, Washington and Roosevelt belong at the top.
The Animaniacs song about presidents was cute.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that is a fabulous version of Lili Marlene. Love that song, Texas. We'll have to dedicate that to our German friends.

Well, this has been attributed to Mark Twain, and it's a great quote:

"Everbody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it."

Just saw C.I. report on the weather in California, folks.

Big storm moves into S. Calif.; snow closes I-5
1 hr 23 mins ago

LOS ANGELES " A storm that could be the largest of the season is bringing heavy rain and snow to sections of California.

The National Weather Service posted winter storm warnings Monday for the Sierra Nevada and issued flood advisories from the San Francisco Bay area south to the Los Angeles region.

The California Highway Patrol said snow closed a section of Interstate 5 in the mountains north of Los Angeles. The highway department required tire chains on Interstate 80 through the Sierra Nevada.

Meteorologist David Gomberg calls it the area's "most significant storm so far this season."

Hmmm. Maybe Dionne doesn't want to go there.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, you just touched another genetic memory with that song by Ray. I know it, but not certain why.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do it with one by Lady Day.

Remember Lady Sings the Blues, y'all?

Hope all is well with our Izzie and that cockney Brit, Barry.

Goodnight world,

From Letty with love
