Guided By Voices - Game Of Pricks

I've waited too long to have you
Hide in the back of me
I've cheated so long I wonder
How you keep track of me

You could never be strong
You can only be free
And I never asked for the truth
But you owe that to me

I've entered the game of pricks
With knives in the back of me
Can't call you or on you no more
When they're attacking me

I'll climb up on the house
Weep to water the trees
And when you come calling me down
I'll put on my disease

You could never be strong
You can only be free
And I never asked for the truth
But you owe that to me
And I never asked for the truth
But you owe that to me
And I never asked for the truth
But you owe that to me

More trivia- On the same album as Day-O (The Banana Boat Song), is a song called Star-O. It is really the same song, except he sings "Starlight come and I carry me load -"

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

Methinks everyone is in Canada wishing Intrepid a Happy Birthday, and our foxy lady a Happy Anniversary.

Had a wonderful time last evening and it was good to get out of this little studio of mine. Had a couple of martinis and that is not something that I often do, y'all.

Hey, d.j. Loved that unusual song and dys, I recall Alan Arkin in The Seven Percent Solution. Thanks for the info about his having written about bananas, buddy.

Today is Melissa Manchester's birthday, so for crying out loud; let's hear one by her.

I'm watching Ireland play Italy in the 6 Nations Rugby..... so - here's cheering for Ireland... C'mon ye greens!

@Izzie,
Izzie, Welcome back, hun. That was indeed a different version of Molly Malone. Thanks, Miss Brit.

Today is Caesar Romero's birthday, so here is a salute to him. (it's also Ticomaya's natal day) Razz

I had to check out the musical background and it's exactly what I thought. See if you can guess it, folks.

I know the song in the Caesar Romero tribute, just don't know its name. Liked izzie's song, also.

This morning I am listening to Elvis, who is doing an old Hank Snow tune.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar. I didn't know that Hank nor Elvis did that one. Thanks, Texas ,for the memory jog. Incidentally, that was The Third Man Theme.

This is for Ticomaya on his birthday, y'all.

Most folks will find it hard to believe, but I had never watched a Schwartzenager film until late last year. I happened across Terminator one evening and left it on, because there were no programs I cared to see. Verdict: Not bad, but not great. Here is another secret: I have yet to see a James Bond film, and barely got through the original Godfather.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, I see that this is true confessions day on WA2K. Here's one for me as well. I have never seen Chris Farley either, but since today is his birthday, here's a tribute to him. His life was sad, too, y'all.

I recall a few bits Farley did that were fairly humorous.

This was news to me. According to Alma Cogan, one must never do a tango with an Eskimo.

@edgarblythe,
Love it, edgar. Gave me a smile this evening.

Yep, folks, you don't tango with an eskimo and you don't mess around with Jim.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, Jesus wept; he got angry; and he partied when he changed the water into wine, so I'm certain he would appreciate your song.
