Or do you prefer motorbikes? This is a road close to Balingen - very popular with bikers. So popular they had to close it on Sundays because there were so many bikes and accidents... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymlMhUnoP8c

Just stepped outside and it is COLD here as well. I often arise early. Guess our edgar is on his way to Dallas.

My goodness, only Urs could entice Roger into our wee cyber studio this morning. Love it! and watching Urs' castle reminded me of Ragland castle.

Never, NEVER would I want to ride on the autobahn(skateboard or motorbike). Speed scares me still.

Izzie, that video of you and Nadia was fantastic. You are both lovely ladies. Thanks, hun.

Just saw a bit on TV about the superbowl. I don't even know who is contending, but Shamu does. The Pittsburg steelers?

According to the sports reporter Shamu leapt out of the water for them.

Well, here is that orca doing his thing, folks.

I never see that Seaworld promo without thinking of Satt fs. <big smile>

Good morning. I am not likely to post much today. Probably go to Dallas shortly. I had such a busy day yesterday, I am running behind this morning.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! folks. I went back to bed and slept like the proverbial log.

Drive safely, edgar. As my Irish friend Al's uncle once told him. Remember boy. There'll be other drunks and fools on the road. Razz We love you, too, edgar.

Here's one for edgar and I know that he likes it.

@urs53,
Hee, hee! Urs I'm glad that someone shares my view on football, and that brought to mind another Bruce.

Recently, folks, I have been searching out conspiracy theories. They are a type of history mysteries, no?

My son thinks that the ninja were sent to assassinate Bruce and Brandon Lee because they taught martial arts to non believers.

Damn, you would not believe the stuff that I found on the web.

Anyway, here is one by the master, and it's a SUPER mix.

Just as an aside, for some reason all the boys in the band started to refer to each other as the Ox. Bud's epithet was BudOx. So the year of the ox gave me a smile.

@Izzie,
Wow, Izzie. I had to go to the archives to find out that information. Thanks for the Scully and Fox info. Still watch them when I can, but usually I fall asleep before the end.

Hey, y'all, time for a little levity. Lightwizard sent me this and I love it.

For all Who Work With Rude Customers, shame WE can't actually do this !
An award should go to the Virgin Airlines desk attendant in Sydney, Australia,
Some months ago for being smart and funny, while making her point,
When confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.

A crowded Virgin flight was canceled after Virgin's 767s had been withdrawn from service.

A single attendant was rebooking a long line of inconvenienced travelers.

Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk.
He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said,
'I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS'.

The attendant replied, 'I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you,
But I've got to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out.'
The passenger was unimpressed.

He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, 'DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?'

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone:

'May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please,' she began -
Her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal.

'We have a passenger here at Desk 14..... WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS.
If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Desk 14.'

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically,
The man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, 'F... You!'

Without flinching, she smiled and said,

(I love this part…) 'I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too.'

Salute to that Aussie.

Hmm. It seems that some people can tell a joke and some people can't, y'all.

Here's the picture of the reunion that our Izzie mentioned.

@urs53,
Love that song, dear Urs. I found out that silbermond means, Silver Moon and it is "the best". Incidentally, thank you for the acknowledgement. May you sleep well and feel the silver moon on your face.

Hope edgar made it safely to Dallas and that our puppy is just taking a respite and will be here again tomorrow.

Time for me to say goodnight as well. It's Mario Lanza's birthday today and I love this song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F9BiDAfpaA

Here are the English lyrics

Granada, I'm falling under your spell,
And if you could speak,
What a fascinating tale you would tell,
A vantage, the world has long forgotten,
A vantage that weaves a silent majic in
Granada, today
.
The dawn in the sky, greets the day with a sigh,
For Granada,
For she can remember, the splendored
That once was Granada,
It sill can be found in the hills all around,
As I wonder along,
Entranced by the beauty before me,
Entranced by a land full of sunshine,
And flowers and song...
And when the day is done and the sun
Starts to set in Granada,
I envy the blush of the snow clad
Sierras of Nevada,
For soon it will welcome the stars
As a thousand guitars play a soft cobinyetta,
Then moonlit Granada,
Will live again, the glory of yesterday,
Romantic and gay.

Goodnight world,

From Letty with love

Very good, Letty! The chorus goes 'you are the best thing that ever happened to me'.

No silver moon but some snow for me...

@urs53,
Good morning, WA2K folks.

urs, I dreamed last evening that I got a moon burn. I think it involves my allergy to certain materials that irritate my skin. It is still cold here and it may be recorded as the coldest winter in Florida.

Very strange, folks; I have been doing research on the illuminate and many sites equal it to the new world order. What a surprise to find out that today is Brandon Lee's birthday.

Morning, Letty. Happy Super Bowl Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down, with Groundhog's Day in tow.

I wish Izzie would swing by here on a snow plow. Been cooped up here like a banty rooster for better part of a week now. Even a wolf at the door would be a welcome sight. Good job my cable line is still connected at both ends, even though the line itself is buried under 2" of ice, 6" of snow and 1/2 a sassafras tree. So I can still pickup your radio station and enjoy the tunes and the repartee.

I hear today's also National Freedom Day, which is good, I guess. I'd appreciate it even more if I could mosey around outside for a while. Come the thaw, I'll have several chords of free firewood thanks to the ice storm. By that time, of course, I won't be needing the wood, but ... c'est la vie, nothin' ain't worth nothin' but it's free. That remind you of a tune?

@Debacle,
Almost noon here, Debacle, and I love that song. At one time, I thought that Janis Joplin had written it. Thanks, Indy.

Today is Lisa Marie Presley's birthday, and thinking of the economic conditions in the world this may be quite appropriate. Father and daughter sing In the Ghetto.

Had no idea that today was Freedom Day, but here is the background, y'all.

National Freedom Day
A Local Legacy
What holiday is celebrated on February 1?
It's National Freedom Day. The purpose of this holiday is to promote good feelings, harmony, and equal opportunity among all citizens and to remember that the United States is a nation dedicated to the ideal of freedom.
Major Richard Robert Wright Sr., a former slave, fought to have a day when freedom for all Americans is celebrated. When Wright got his freedom, he went on to become a successful businessman and community leader in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Major Wright chose February 1 as National Freedom Day because it was the day in 1865 that President Lincoln signed the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. Do you know what the 13th Amendment did?
This amendment, an important change to our written law, outlawed slavery in the United States. Wright gathered national and local leaders together to write a bill declaring February 1 "National Freedom Day" and President Harry Truman signed the bill in 1948 making it official.

It's also the anniversary of the Colombia disaster. I think that is the real day that the earth stood still. We knew the guy whose company made the fatal O rings. Think he was given a golden hand shake.

@Izzie,
My word, Izzie, I had forgotten that George Lazenby did a Bond movie. Had to look him up and found that he collaborated with Bruce Lee. Sheeeze, folks, why does that man keep poppin up everywhere.

Today is Clark Gable's birthday, and I don't think anyone will ever forget, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

A tribute to Clark and Carol, y'all.
