@urs53,
Goodnight, dear Urs. Annett was fantastic, and Stefan(coincidence, I suppose) was really smooth. Perfect slow tune for this time of the evening. Danke. (hope I spelled that correctly)

My word, John Henry and his nine pound hammer. I've been through the Big Ben tunnel and have seen that statue erected to him. Bruce did it right, as he always does. Surprised to find that he did This Little Light of Mine, too.

Talking about surprise, folks. I was stunned when I learned that English was Urs' and Calamity Jane's second language. Us 'Mericans are monolingual. Perhaps it's because we don't have to know anything but English in order to function.

And when our Urs awakes, here is one for her and for us, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Tell you the truth, edgar, I didn't understand it either, but it had erotic overtones, I think. It was funny watching those teenagers mob David, however..

Well, it's time for me to say goodnight, and I think I'll let Beyonce do it for me. I Really don't care for her, but this tribute to Etta James made my eyes water. She's going to sing it at Obama's inauguration.

Tried my best to find the classic verion of The Night Has a Thousand Eyes, but the only one that I could locate was by Bobby Vee. May do it anyway, folks.

First, Beyonce

Beyonce has talent, but I don't really listen to her. Bobby Vee started as a weak imitation of Buddy Holly, but never grew as an artist.

Urs, I sorta thought that might have a lot of allusions. Funny, somehow.

Well, folks. Let's get going with a couple of songs. First, one for our Urs. Perhaps the Spanish ad lib will be all right to air. Razz

@Letty,
Good Morning Miss Letty, Andrea Berg is a German singer , and with your permission I would to play one of her favourite songs of mine, "You told me a 1000 lies" or in German "Du hast mich 1000 mal belogen". Maybe even urs53 has heard of it. Smile

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans on Friday blocked a bill that would have delayed next month's nationwide shutdown of analog TV signals until June 12, but Democrats vowed to bring the measure back for a vote next week.

The bill was defeated even after President-elect Barack Obama on Friday urged lawmakers to postpone the Feb. 17 transition amid mounting concerns that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up broadcast channels won't be ready. Obama called for a delay largely because the federal program that subsidizes converter boxes for those viewers hit a $1.34 billion funding limit this month.

But some Senate Republicans fear a delay would confuse people and burden public safety agencies waiting for wireless spectrum that will be freed up by the switchover. The opponents also said a delay would be costly for television broadcasters that have spent several years preparing for the analog shutoff.

Good morning. Your a2k "almost on the scenes" reporter, EBlythe here. The sky is overcast and pretty darn cool over beautiful downtown Tomball this morning. Forcasters expect a high in the low 60s, however. I will be cutting in with news spots from time to time throughout the weeks ahead, in addition to my duties as a music presenter and discusser (look it up) as per normal. Y'all have a good 'un, hear?

@edgarblythe,
er, edgar. Does that mean that we must throw away our great, but old TV's? Well, Texas I just got through listening to a HAARP explanation, and it sounds like another conspiracy.

Tessla and Tucker; men and their dreams come true. Dangerous to be right, sometimes, folks.

Guess we had better listen to another type harp, folks.

I love the harp video. Lot a great birthdays today. On the topic of digital TV, the converter boxes can be had for $40 - 50. There is a government program to give out free $40 coupons to help consumers, but they are temporarily out of funds. I put a box on my old TV and now get not only a better picture, but more channels.

@edgarblythe,
Temporarily out of funds, edgar? How about those who are permanantly out of money. So, we'll all have to buy a box for the boob tube. Sheeeze.(poor Ed McMahon)

Hey, all. Moira did more than The Red Shoes, although that is still my favorite. Here she in other tales.
