Speaking of Ed McMahon, he is being foreclosed on. The server was bitten by a 40 lb poodle, so I have read.

@edgarblythe,
Is this the poodle that left the server in a puddle, edgar.

Let's dedicate this to Ed's server, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Last news of I can Google is from December 22nd, his loan is being renegotiated with Countrywide, so there's nothing final yet:

http://www.postbulletin.com/newsmanager/templates/localnews_story.asp?z=35&a=376483

Citibank has won a lawsuit for $180M and the McMahons have a lawsuit pending against the hospital regarding their treatment of his broken neck.

@Lightwizard,
Hey, Mr. Wizard. Let's hope things work out well for Ed McMahon. I thought I saw where Donald Trump was supposed to buy his mansion. Can't stand that man.

Well, let's talk about another gangster, folks. This time it's Alphonso Capone as depicted in the movie, The Untouchables.

http://en.sevenload.com/videos/TCL9tFF-Robert-De-Niro-is-Al-Capone

Hope this works, y'all.

In Long Beach, CA, I once knew in passing a young man who held a positive opinion of Capone. He said you hold an opinion of a person according to how the person has affected your life (True, to an extent). Capone made this man's grandfather rich, and the grandfather lived long enough to enjoy it.

@edgarblythe,
Not sure why that happened -- the link is correct, but try the Google news link:

http://news.google.com/news?q=ed+mcmahon+foreclosure&sourceid=navclient-ff&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2007-26,GGGL:en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=X&oi=news_group&resnum=1&ct=title

It's the fourth item down the page and there are the items regarding CitiBank, who is, incidenally, all but out-of-business.

We can always use a financial report here on our cyber radio station. It's very confusing as to who owns what now. I think JPMorgan owns my mortgage and Wells Fargo owns Wachovia.

Back to Capone, folks. I can see DeNiro crying real tears as he sits in his box at the opera listening to Enrico Caruso. Mario Lanza did this aria as well, but I love the original.

Good morning, WA2K radio.

Thanks, dj, for a great Irish song. Nice to hear upon awakening, Canada.

Had a great evening, and watched the Delta rocket in the black sky as we shivered. As usual, Roberto was a wonderful host. Had a seafood soup that was fantastic, and great conversation with a couple of kids.

Today is Kevin Costner's birthday. I had no idea that he had a band. Then again, I may have the wrong man. Hope not, cause here is a perfect song for the beginning of the morning.

On that same theme (song from Costner movie 'Ghost' ?), Connie Talbot, British 7-yr-old, captured hearts all around the world when she sang in 'Britain's Got Talent'. This video/audio clip leaves me speechless and without a dry eye. Pls pardon me if this is a possible repeat from any earlier posts.

@Ragman,
Ragman, Welcome back, buddy. I am stunned. That child is fabulous! Actually, that song was from "Bodyguard" with Whitney Houston and Kevin, but Dolly Parton did it first, methinks. Thanks for allowing us to have faith in the talent of children.

Today is Danny Kaye's birthday, and he was a real talent, too. Here's one familiar to all.

Good morning WA2K. Not such a good one, here. Another cold, snow-covered day and worst of all, no Sunday newspaper yet. I need my Sunday crossword.

Here are some of today's birthdays:

1882 - A. A. Milne, English author (Winnie-the-Pooh, et al)(d. 1956); 1892 - Oliver Hardy, American comedian and actor (d. 1957) ; 1904 - Cary Grant, English actor (d. 1986); 1913 - Danny Kaye, American actor (d. 1987) ; 1933 - Ray Dolby, American inventor (Dolby noise reduction system); 1941 - Bobby Goldsboro, American country/pop singer and 1955 - Kevin Costner, American actor

Oliver Hardy, Cary Grant, Danny Kaye, Bobby Goldsboro and Kevin Costner

@Raggedyaggie,
Hey, puppy. Perhaps if you change your fur color, you won't be so cold. Razz

Thanks for the info and the great faces, PA. I had forgotten how chilly a body can get. Even the "rocket's red glare" did not help last night.

I'll bet Ragman and I know every one of those famous folks, but here is one that I like by Bobby, y'all.

I could have done "With Pen in Hand" and dedicate it to Raggedy when she gets the crossword puzzle.

@Rockhead,
Thanks for "Pooh Corner", Rockhead. It actually made me tear up.

Last night we had a family gathering. My daughter was there. She'll be 26 next
month, but that song reminded me of when she was just my little girl, snuggled
up and listening to me read to her.

@Rockhead,
Welcome back, Rock. I don't recall your having played that one, but I love it. Also love "Christopher Robin is Saying His Prayers". Thanks, Kansas.

Today is Cary Grant's birthday, and I vaguely recall a movie about him and Barbara Hutton. (poor little rich girl).

Cary was a decent guy, and I believe was Barbara's only gentleman spouse.

Several nights back, he was on TCM in the sad life of Tchaikovsky's 'None but the Lonely Heart". Didn't get to see it, however.

Here's a tribute to the man with the dimpled chin, y'all.

NAH! Doesn't work.

I couldn't access your Goldsboro link. Was it See the Funny Little Clown?
I'm still waiting with pen in hand. Laughing
