Got some Joan Baez here. I also like Lee Van Cleef. Once knew his first acting instructor. He told me Lee wanted very badly to step into the late Humphrey Bogart's shoes.

@edgarblythe,
Strange, edgar, how some folks characterize that song by Joan as religious. To me it's actually a spiritual. I think we all have a sense of that, right?

Well, folks, ever since I saw Bruce Lee's house in Hong Kong, I have been thinking about what happened to the man. Also wondering about Brandon Lee as well.

Here's a brief excerpt from his death:

On July 20, 1973, Lee was in Hong Kong, due to have dinner with former James Bond star George Lazenby, with whom he intended to make a film. According to Lee's wife Linda, Lee met producer Raymond Chow at 2 p.m. at home to discuss the making of the movie Game of Death. They worked until 4 p.m. and then drove together to the home of Lee's colleague Betty Ting Pei, a Taiwanese actress who was to have a leading role in the film. The three went over the script at her home, and then Chow left to attend a dinner meeting.

A short time later, Lee complained of a headache, and Ting Pei gave him an analgesic. At around 7:30 p.m., he lay down for a nap. After Lee did not turn up for dinner, Chow came to the apartment but could not wake Lee up. A doctor was summoned, who spent ten minutes attempting to revive him before sending him by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. However, Lee was dead by the time he reached the hospital. There was no visible external injury; however, his brain had swollen considerably, from 1,400 to 1,575 grams (13%). Lee was thirty-two years old. On October 15, 2005, Chow stated in an interview that Lee was allergic to Equagesic. When the doctors announced Bruce Lee's death officially, it was coined as "Death by Misadventure."

Here's a tribute to Brandon. Another misadventure?

@Rockhead,
Thanks for the memory, Rocky. How long ago we discussed Bob Denver and his pot, supposedly sent to him by Mary Ann. He got six months probation for that one.

Been on the phone for a while. My son can't talk to me, so this is for him.

Perhaps tomorrow will be better, y'all.

Goodnight,

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, your song by Donovan reminded me of Rudyard Kipling and this fellow who is the enemny of the cobra.

Rocky, loved that Tiger story. More yin and yang, George? You must ask your lovely bride about her opinion of Bruce and Brandon Lee.

Today is Rod Stewartt's birthday, so let's hear one by him.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Didn't know that Neil song, but my favorite by him is still "The Immigrant".

Ray Charles, of course, is always a winner. A lot of folks are busted right now, I suppose.

Well, folks, we hired a young editor named Miss Spelling (daughter of Aaron) and she missed a couple of errors on our transcripts. I'll correct them.

Stewart and enemy, of course.

In response to Neil, here is a song that talks about "girls of the future". Guess whose birthday is today.

@Raggedyaggie,
Hey, puppy. I can always count on you to acknowledge my small attempt at levity. Thanks, PA, for the Croce song and the great montage of famous faces and the info on the others.

We must listen to a tribute song to Paul Henreid, y'all, and one of my favorites from Jim.

First, the song that everyone knows, As Time Goes By.

@Rockhead,
Good morning, WA2K radio.

Thanks, edgar and Rock for the Jim Croce songs. The man was excellent and as edgar once observed, had he lived, what wonderful music would he be doing today?

I don't know which is more entrancing, y'all; the rising moon out of the ocean, or the setting moon over the intercoastal waterway.

If it's still 45 below in Alaska, I do hope that Sarah has warm clothes to wear. Razz

Today is Clarence Clemons' birthday. I have never heard the man before, but he is truly a great artist.

Good morning. I like that song, letty. And, Jackson Brown has done some of my top favorite songs. This morning I am in a Texas frame of mind, and so offer this waltz by the Little Wheels Band.

edgar, your Waltz Across Texas song was a great one; reminded me of Eddie Arnold.
