I have never been a fan of Jimi Hendrix, but some of his recordings are worth a listen. I Am A Man is the name of this one.

@edgarblythe,
Love that Art Garfunkel song, Edgar. Have it on a 45.

Here's one I love in which the birthday boy, Bryan Adams ,joined Pavarotti and cast. Makes you want to sing.

Thanks once again, puppy, for the great montage of notables. Wow! I noticed that you gave a big smile after Sam's photo. Razz

Also saw that Joel McCrea was among them, too. Remember the old movie that I told you about via TCM? He starred in The Most Dangerous Game.

edgar, thanks for Jimi and Art. I like both of those songs, Texas. (saw your announcement about Michael Crichton; the first book that I read by him was A Case of Need under the nom de plume of Jeffery Hudson. Really made a statement, buddy)

Raggedy, also enjoyed Bryan Adams and Pavoratti.

When our listeners get a chance ,here is a replay of The Richard Connell short story that has been redone and is worth the watch and the listen.

Best to read the short story, however.

@Letty,
Most Dangerous Game is a great story. I read it in a high school literature book, a few years after hearing a radio dramatization. Then later on saw the Faye Wraye film of it. Always good, though.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar. Know that one, Texas, and here's another that seems appropriate. Do you suppose that we can get the world to sing? <sigh>

Time for me to say goodnight, y'all, and I love this song and it's perfect, I think.

Never heard of the Barnknickers, but maybe some of our listeners have.

Good morning, WA2K radio.

Hey, Texas, I recall the melody to that one, and thanks for the reminder of Little Bitty Pretty One.

How in the world did your PD miss the big island man's tribute to Obama? Wow! Ray Charles' America the Beautiful always makes me cry. Thanks, honu, and may America always be beautiful to the world.

Also heard from smokingun(Northern Ireland) and he sent me a beautiful picture of the world from outer space) Thanks, buddy.

Well, today is Sally Field's birthday, so here is one about her. Whoever is singing that song is great, but I cannot place the vocalist. (Incidentally, folks, that should have been BARNKICKERS)

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for the Brenda Lee song. Miss TNT? Love it. Just saw that she did "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow". Great song, folks.

I knew that voice sounded familiar. Love Matt Monroe, and here is another song by that "singing bus driver"

alex, That duet was awesome. I had no idea that the young man was blind, and Sarah is one of my all time favorites. Thank you for the wonderful song of goodbye.

Good afternoon all.

Ah, the Phantom. I never get tired of that one. There was talk that Antonio would get the movie role. Don't know why it fell through.

Some more birthdays for today:

John Philip Sousa (1854-1932); Ray Conniff, composer/conductor (1916-2002); James Jones, writer (From Here to Eternity, The Thin Red Line, Some Came Running) (1921-1977); Mike Nichols (film director)(1931); Glenn Frey (Eagles) (1948); Brad Davis, actor (Midnight Express, et al)Diagnosed with AIDS in 1985, Davis kept his condition secret until shortly before his death. Although it was announced he died of AIDS in 1991 in Los Angeles, he actually died of an intentional drug overdose. Near death and in severe pain in a hospital, he opted to return home and end his life on his own terms. With his wife and a family friend present, he committed assisted suicide.Davis was referred to as "the first heterosexual actor to die of AIDS," although he reportedly was bisexual, a claim disputed by his wife in her book. ) (1949-1991); Lori Singer, actress (Footloose, et al)(1957) and Ethan Hawke , actor, writer and director (1970)

@Raggedyaggie,
Thanks again, puppy, for the info and the trio. I didn't even know that Antonio did the phantom, PA.

Don't recall Brad Davis, but that is really sad, PA.

Here's a great one by Glen Frey, y'all
