@edgarblythe,
Well, The times they are achangin', edgar. Razz

Texas, I could barely hear your Sounds of Silence. It's rather eerie, because I have no trouble with the volume except here.

Hmmm. Do you suppose our cyber radio station is haunted? Instead of doing that haunted forest as a test, I think that I shall say goodnight with this old favorite by an Aussie. I noticed that McTag was asking the mooseman in his music cafe about the different versions of Hank Snow's original, so thought I might try it here.

Good morning, WA2K radio. How very coincidental that this man should predict a changing world.

By ROHAN SULLIVAN " 4 hours ago

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) " Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch says the ongoing metamorphosis of China and India from historic backwaters into economic powers will help reshape the world in the next few decades.

The News Corp. chief gave an upbeat assessment of the future and made a vigorous case for free markets despite troubled economic times and what he called "naked, heartless aggression" in the world.

In the first of a series of speeches in his birth country of Australia, Murdoch spoke Sunday of "the great transformation we've seen in the past few decades, the unleashing of human talent and ability across our world, and the golden age for humankind that I see just around the corner."

He said China and India are great countries whose people are only recently emerging from long histories of being "incarcerated by communism or caste." The rise of their economies is creating a new middle class that would be three billion strong within 30 years and that is setting a new benchmark for global competitiveness.

Today is Shahrukh Khan's birthday. We'll dedicate this to Prince Gautam and hope that he shall return to us eventually.

@edgarblythe,
Been having a wee bit of trouble, edgar, but I was fascinated with that song and info by Donovan. Interesting coincidence, Texas, that he visited John Lennon in India, right?

Donovan's green guitar reminded me of The Green Door, so here it is.

Strange that when I play a song outside our studio, the sound is perfect. Hope this one works better, folks.

The very young Paul Anka.
I liked him very much in those days.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar, I am still amazed at what Paul Anka has done. Forgot that he did the lyrics to My Way. Thanks for that song, Texas.

It's dark and rainy here, folks, so since it is Stefanie Powers birthday, how about one by her.

@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. I had forgotten that Dom Deluise starred in Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles, and I just realized that Gilda Radner died of ovarian cancer.

Well, it's time for me to say goodnight, and since it is Sunday, I think that I shall do it with the hymn that I awakened one night singing. That is still strange to me.

Good morning, WA2K and edgar. Well, it looks as though we're once again operating with a skeleton crew, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I recall now that Pitney sang "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance". Thanks, Texas.

Today is Kate Capshaw's birthday and I recall that Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom was not among my favorites, folks; however, here is one of the songs from the movie.

@Raggedyaggie,
Welcome back, puppy, and I loved that song by J.D. Souther. Did a bit of research on the guy, and was surprised to find that he wrote songs for many musicians. Of course, most of our listeners already know Phil Everly.

Great trio of famous faces, PA, but my favorite is Charles Bronson. Loved him in Once Upon a Time in the West, so I've chosen this theme from the movie. It didn't do too well at the box office because Henry Fonda played a villain.

Charles is the man with the harmonica.

Wow! I didn't know that Pat Boone sang that one, edgar. Just found out he also sang Anastasia. Where's JPB?

Here's an interesting item, y'all.

High School Musical 3' is head of class at movies

LOS ANGELES " Hollywood made audiences repeat senior year. Disney's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" hauled in $15 million to remain the top movie for the second straight weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.
Starring Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in a big-screen sequel to the Disney Channel TV movies, "High School Musical 3" raised its 10-day total to $61.8 million.
