Cal Smith sings about Country Bumpkin
Reminds me somewhat of the Browns' song about Jimmy Brown.

@edgarblythe,
Goo morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, that song reminded me of a poet. Are you surprised, Texas?

Oops!

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkey-cock,
And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens,
And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it's then the time a feller is a-feelin' at his best,
With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.

James Whitcomb Riley

Today is Michael Landon's birthday, so here is a tribute to him, y'all.

Ever been to a town hall meeting? It took us a long time, but we defeated the attempt of a developer to buy the land where once a golf course stood.

Not a bit surprised, letty. I noticed that our friend endy is seeking Halloween tales. Wish I had one. Supernatural is not a thing I do well.

@Raggedyaggie,
Hey, Puppy. Thanks for the great montage and the info on more notables.

"from ghosties and ghoulies and long legged beasties and things that go bump in the night, good lord deliver us."

That song that you played must have been based on Doctotow's Ragtime. Loved that book, but I didn't know they had done a musical on it, puppy. Thanks for the obvious contrast.

Here are a couple of songs, folks. The first one is kinda scary 'cause it's a version of rap that's clean.

The second is Scott Joplin that knew HOW to play ragtime, y'all

@Raggedyaggie,
Loved that song, puppy. It's quite fitting for a banshee and a witch. Sweet Izzie started a birthday thread for me.

If you can see the moon tonight, I'll be flying by it on my besom.

Another fond memory of The Realm.

Jim Lowe was, I think, a DJ turned recording artist. His big hit was Green Door, but this ain't it.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K folks.

Wow! I didn't know that one by Jim Lowe, edgar, but I vaguely recall Green Door. "there's an old piano and they play it hot behind the green door." How's that for DNA, Texas.

The musicians last evening played this one, and I loved it.

@Letty,
If it was your birthday Letty, happy belated birthday. Talk about a downplay.

I sure enjoy the steel drums in the introduction of this song.

@alex240101,
Alex, Welcome back. Loved that song, Sara, and thanks for the birthday greeting. Those are never too late, buddy.

Well, folks. I've been looking for the authenic version of this song for quite a while. I finally found the one that is the best. My brother-in-law sang it to his kids so here it is again.

It has been rather warm today. The Beatles sing about it for us.

@edgarblythe,
Trying again. Things are a bit odd today in my wee studio.

Thanks for the Beatle's sun song, but it's dark here, Texas.

Having a little trouble with the sound system in our little studio, so here is a test.

A tribute to the Platters, first, then I shall return with a walk through a haunted forest.
