Welcome back, honu. Liked your chicken dance. Hmmm, isn't there a dance called the funky chicken?

edgar, Never heard Garland Jefferys but I loved the matador, buddy; Mickey Rooney and the jitter bug. That memory made me smile and thanks.

Here's one that I have always wanted to do, folks, but my favorite is still Wilson Pickett.

@edgarblythe,
So do I, edgar, but as I suggested, here is Wilson with his special dance land formula.

Odd, folks, I can see a picture in my mind of the very scenario when I last did this one. I even recall what I wore that evening. That is what imagination is really all about.

Back later, with my goodnight song inspired by the picture connection.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think I shall do it with two.

First, edgar and I both love this one as done by The Byrds, and secondly, A lovely autumn song.

@Letty,
I had gotten my mother to listen to Bob Dylan's songs. Oddly, the one she picked to dislike is Mr Tamberine Man.

Autumn Leaves is good by many artists. I love the Roger Williams record of it very much.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning WA2K radio audience.

edgar, I had to search out Roger Williams. Don't recall his Autumn Leaves, however. Women do have different tastes in music, no? I really like Mr. Tambourine Man, although at one time I heard that it was an allusion to drugs.

Well, folks, how about a jazz version of Romberg accompanied by the lyrics. Also a classical piece that I enjoy as well.

The lyrics as done by Dianne Reeves

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light of love comes stealing
Into a newborn day

Flaming with all the glow of sunrise
A burning kiss is sealing
A vow that all betray

For the passions that thrill love
And take you high to heaven
Are the passions that kill love
And let it fall to hell
So ends the story

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light that gave you glory
Will take it all away

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light of love comes stealing
Into a newborn day
Flaming with all the glow of sunrise
A burning kiss is sealing
A vow that all betray

For the passions that thrill love
And take you high to heaven
Are the passions that kill love
And let it fall to hell
So ends the story

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light that gave you glory
Will take it all away

Softly as it fades away
Softly as it fades away
Softly as it fades away
Softly as it fades away

Goodies to all. I brought Clay Aiken into the studio with me this morning. Let's greet him raucusly (is that even a word?) as he performs a tribute to Neil Sedaka.

@edgarblythe,
Oops, for a moment there I thought that you were going to say, Claude Aiken, edgar. Hey, Texas. That man has a great voice. You can coin a word here if you like. Lots of folks have done so.

I do believe there was a character in one of the James Bond movies called "solitaire", but your card game reminded me of this jazz tune.

@Raggedyaggie,
Trying again, puppy. Good afternoon.

Thanks for the visible trio and the opportunity to research the others. As for me, here is one that involves Will Smith and I love it.

@edgarblythe,
hey, edgar. I vaguely recall that "teenager in love". For a moment there I thought you were referring to Johnny "rabbit" Hodges. Bud knew him personally.

I also went to the archives and found this one.

Here's one by the Rabbit and Gerry Mulligan.

Judy Collins and Pete Seger are two of my top favorite artists. Here is Judy, appearing on Pete's self financed TV series.

Love "Both Sides Now" by Judy, edgar. Thanks, buddy. Hadn't heard that one.

Time for me to say goodnight and I think I shall let Clifford and Helen do it for me as I'm feeling a little low, folks.

Computers and recorded music can bring new ways to appreciate old things. For instance, Van Gogh's self portraits.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

As always, edgar, I enjoy learning to appreciate Van Gogh. Knowing his background helps as well. Thanks, Texas.

Today is George Gershwin's birthday, folks, and the man was multi-faceted in his musical genius.

All of his music is classic to me, but here is a famous one by him.

Gershwin stands in a class all alone. Well, here is Johnny Mathis. I forgot who wrote this one.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I think Maria is from West Side Story, a modern Romeo and Juliet. Trying to remember things without going to the archives. That's a great version by Johnny, Texas, and thanks.

Today is Linda Hamilton's birthday, and most of us recall her in Terminator, methinks.

We'll dedicate this to Ticomaya.
