First time I saw Dr Phibes, I thought itwas brilliantly done. Of course, today I'm jaded - But it is still a good show.

Good night. Closing with the Billygoat Rag. I was searching for a hillbilly song by that name, but came across this newer one with the same name:

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, I don't recall much about the evil doctor, I was simply surprised to find that The Mad March of the Priests was played by his character.

RH, Johnny Cash did the proper melody to The Ballad of Casey Jones, but as usual, the lyrics are always different when we deal with any ballads.

Hey, folks. Check out the background on Mr. Jones when you have the opportunity. Very interesting facts concerning him.

Thanks to both Rocky and edgar for the Jerry Reed songs.

Today is Alan Ladd's birthday. What a sad life the man lived and the jury is still out on whether he killed himself or not.

First, the theme from Shane.

I recall asking Ellinas about the melody to Boy on a Dolphin, and I found that one as well.

Here is my tribute to Shane. Which was a pretty good film. I always felt sorry for Alan Ladd. He was a talented man.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, all.

I recall that Shane was a man who had to move on. That made me think of the saying that a rolling stone gathers no moss. So, thought I'd start my day by listening to the Stones.

@Raggedyaggie,
edgar, thanks for the great tribute to all the westerns, and firefly, Ruby Tuesday was a good one as well. Thanks, gal. (great way to link to The Stones)

Hello, blue pup. Thanks again for the sextet of celebs. (PD is watching the weather)

I had forgotten what a bad boy Charlie Sheen was, and here's a great one that was the theme of one of his movies, folks.

@Letty,
Charlie Sheen has a TV series currently in production. Two Men and a Boy. I think it's very clever and funny.

@edgarblythe,
Looked for that, edgar, but all I could find was something about Two and a Half Men.

However, Texas, his bad boy image just reminded me of this one.

@edgarblythe,
New Orleans reluctantly lets residents return home

By MARY FOSTER and BECKY BOHRER, Associated Press Writers 6 minutes ago
NEW ORLEANS - As a stream of traffic queued up on the highways leading back to New Orleans, Mayor Ray Nagin decided Wednesday to let residents who fled Hurricane Gustav back after all " with a stern warning the city was still vulnerable.

Most neighborhoods did not have power, hospitals were running on generators and most businesses remained shuttered. Nagin initially said residents should wait until early Thursday to come back. But those who live here, knowing this storm was no Katrina, were begging to get back home and sleep in their own beds.

A memory from Willie and Don, folks.

@Letty,
I have loved Eileen Brennan ever since I saw her on stage in a hilarious (really side-splitting) production of the musical, "Little Mary Sunshine". Here's a birthday musical tribute to Eileen with a clip of her as a millworker.

And here's Eileen in a funny clip from the movie, "Private Benjamin".

@edgarblythe,
My word, firefly. I just realized that James Taylor wrote the song, and edgar, I had to go to the archives to realized that Andy Gibb was a part of the Bee Gees.

Thanks to both of you for the memory job.

Here's James. (title is funny)

I don't know much about this group, just that I like about three of their songs.

@edgarblythe,
I don't know them either, edgar, but I most assuredly remember that song. I guess not too many folks here remember Booman, but he announced that he was leaving his family and going out on his own. He sent me a skewed version of that song, Miss Letty done wrote me a letter. Hope he is all right.

Well, folks, edgar's song reminded of this one from ABBA.
