@Letty,
I love the time Junior Samples was asked to say "Hankercheef," three times in a row (he couldn't).

@Letty,
That was great, Miss Letty.

HeeHaw was one of my father's favorite shows.

Here's another one from Roy on the 12-string.

@JPB,
Unblievable, JPB. I liked Roy's voice as well. Thanks again.

My family has an interesting mix of musical heritage, folks. There was the great country stuff from my cousins in Richmond; the classical from my oldest sister and brother-in-law; the folk music from my dad and the ragtime from my mom.

The jazz came from Bud and my older sister, and therein lies the wonderful heritage.

Here is a lovely acoustic Spanish style guitar, folks.

Porter Wagoner was popular in country circles for a long time. With some, he is probably most notable for spotlighting Dolly Parton. This song, Carroll County Accident, is my favorite one by him.

@yitwail,
edgar, your video was malformed. Razz but I know Porter, Texas, and thanks.

honu, fantastic tribute to the bird man, and I loved that fast jazz. Thanks, buddy.

Thanks to everyone here today on our cyber station.

Time for me to say goodnight, and it has been a wonderful day so let's listen to probably one of the most fabulous vocalist and musicians ever.

Say goodnight for me, Nat.

@Rockhead,
Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

Thanks, Rocky, for the goodnight song by "old blue eyes". We can say what we like about the man being a bit arrogant and insensitive, but regardless, he had those "Italian Pipes". Yep, all, foolish things are a wonderful reminder.

Love this morning song.

I have been listening to Dorothy Provine this morning. In the 60s she revived some very old songs, such as this one, from the 20s. Listen as she sings, Don't Bring Lulu.

@firefly,
Firefly: I wasn't aware of this: lol
DC 911: Time of Crisis-
Filmed under the title The Big Dance, this tense, made-for-cable docudrama recreates the events following the devastating terrorist attack on New York City and Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001. The focus is on President George W. Bush, here played by Timothy Bottoms. http://images.fandango.com/r79.3.1/ImageRenderer/156/230/images/no_image_156x230.jpg/0/images/masterrepository/amg/cov150/drt400/t491/t49169njbrl.jpg Very Happy

@Raggedyaggie,
Hey, pup. I wasn't aware of it either, but I am aware of the fact that Pegge is really spelled Peggy.

edgar:

LuLu has a lot of songs about her, Texas. Thanks for that one.

Ah, the Mom's and the Pop's. I still love it, firefly.

Besides the cartoon, Little LuLu, here's one done ala Oscar replete with lyrics, y'all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzp_mgGK0g0

Gotta get my old tuxedo pressed,
Gotta sew a button on my vest,
'Cause tonight I've gotta look my best,
Lulu's back in town.
Gotta get a half a buck somewhere,
Gotta shine my shoes and slick my hair,
Gotta get myself a boutonniere,
Lulu's back in town.

You can tell all my pets,
All my Harlem coquettes;
Mister Otis regrets
That he won't be aroun'.

You can tell the mailman not to call,
I ain't comin' home until the fall,
And I might not get back home at all,
Lulu's back in town.

I am sure this has been played on the radio here at least a time or two. But, I am nostalgic for Lee Marvin.
