@firefly,
Good morning, WA2K radio audience. (I hope so as well, firefly)

Ah, Basin Street Blues by the fountain man. Thanks, gal.

Today is Gene Kelly's birthday, y'all, and I can't think of a better tribute than this one.

Johnny Cash sang "Don't Take Your Guns to Town." Charley Rich penned a sequel which Jerry Lee Lewis recorded.

@urs53,
For edgar. Damn, Texas. I loved that one by Ahmad Jamal. Had forgotten about him. That guy can take any song and make it swing(with some help from that bass man.) Thanks.

Urs, Welcome back. Too bad that us 'mercians are so monolingual. That was great, gal. Say hi to bigdice for me, and thanks for the song.

Here's one that is in response to McTag's reply on my thread about Satan. We'll all understand this one. It's from a revival of Guys and Dolls.

I saw that revival of Guys and Dolls. It was quite good.

I wonder if the Sandpipers rocked the boat with this decidedly different version of La Bamba. I really like it.

@firefly,
Hey, firefly. Loved Forever Young by Joan. I think she has been to St. Augustine and gotten a bottle of "forever" from the fountain of youth.

Ah, Loved that slow version of La Bamba, gal. Just reminded me of The Sandpipers, "Come Saturday Morning. " Thanks again.

Well, y'all, today is River Phoenix's birthday. He'll stay young forever.

Good afternoon.
Bet you thought I got lost in Kentucky looking for my spots, Letty. Well, spots are all gone, but here I am:

How do you like my new look?

Remembering on their day: Our local boy, Gene (love Slaughter on 10th Ave.); drummer Keith Moon (The Who) and River Phoenix.

@Raggedyaggie,
Great pictures, puppy, and I think that you are a terrier, but let's ask The Who.
(I'm just glad that you're back, PA. Talked to my son and he sounds so tired)

This is for our Raggedy and it can also be an owl song.

I do hope your son will be feeling better soon, Letty.

As to the Who's inquiry:

@firefly,
I have a recording of La Bamba by Harry Belafonte. He begins with the same arrangement used by the Sandpipers, but at the end it erupts into a more traditional, very lively rendition. I wish I could find it on line.

@Raggedyaggie,
Well, puppy, I love Neil Diamond. Haven't heard that one in a while.

YooHoo, edgar. Tried to find the Harry Belafonte version with no luck.

PA, your song reminded me of this old testament incident with Moses and the burning bush (notice that I did NOT capitalize "bush") So what do you know, I found this great gospel song. God replied to Moses, "I am that I am."

@Rockhead,
Ah, seed, you remembered when you were our creative janitor. I see that nothing has inhibited that RNA. I think our RH has chosen the perfect birthday song for you. We'll create a real celebration tomorrow. Thanks to Izzie for the healing thoughts. They often are just the right touch.

Well, all, it's time for me to say goodnight, and I can't think of a better song to play than water music. (the kind that is lulling, not destructive)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJq2MwI9IPg&feature=related

Goodnight all.

From Letty with love
