Good morning, a2k. My grandson is sleeping, so no music for me this morning. Will return in the afternoon, though.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, just turn down the volume, and that will allow your sleeping grandchild to lie.

Here's an interesting commentery from John of Virginia concerning the man who read Langston Hughes' poem.

Langston Hughes' Let America Be America Again.
I was immediately attracted by the voice of the gentleman reading it. I could not find a credit, but that HAS to be James Robertson, professor of history at Virginia Tech. His expertise is in the Civil War and for many years he would talk about some snippet of Civil War history for a couple of minutes on Friday mornings on our local NPR station. He has a beautiful southern accent that, believe it or not, is not too far removed from my own sometimes. He also has, and this was not noticed by me until some of his former students pointed it out, a slight speech impediment you can perhaps detect if you listen closely.
Good to see Panzade is back.

Thank you, RJB.

Wow. I hadn't heard that song for many years and have never seen the video. Thanks, Letty.

@OnTheFritz,
Hey, OTF. I am assuming that you mean the one by John Lee Hooker; just happy that you are back with us on WA2K radio, and you are most welcome.

Well, all, today is Tori Amos' birthday, so here's one by the lady.

@Letty,
Good morning Miss Letty, edgar (I'll try to be quiet), OTF, and the rest of today's listening audience. It today is a day to celebrate a blues great then it's a great day. Here's another John Lee Hooker tune.

@JPB,
Good morning to you, JPB. Our sound satellite isn't functioning too well in the atmosphere here, but I do know the alternate name for Tupelo is Black Water, so here is an answer to John.

@Letty,
Good morning, all.

Saw pictures of some of the terrible flooding in Florida, Letty. They said that, because of it, snakes and alligators are appearing in some places. Shocked

That made me think of this song

@firefly,
I just checked my lake out back, firefly, and there's no sign of Anatole nor his kith and kin. Razz

Love that song, however, and thank "the snake in the grass" that we don't have to worry about this fellow. Instead, folks, we can rock with him.

@firefly,
Thanks, firefly. I know both those songs, and your Loch Scott song reminded me that the Yeti, Bigfoot, and this big fellow could pique the imagination. Wink

@Letty,
I recently came across this singer who I don't recall ever hearing before. She has a wonderful voice.

@edgarblythe,
First to firefly: I think I know Laverne. Wasn't there a movie about her. I enjoyed the tear song, gal, and thanks.

edgar, that song by Chuck was a memory, buddy. I need to replay that later, however.

We'll dedicate this one to Diest TKO from my excursion into the meaning of the expression: "Get thee behind me, Satan."

@edgarblythe,
Good to see our Urs back, folks, and as edgar denotes ,Texas is beautiful. Thanks Hank.

Well, folks, Urs has done a Mexican song in German; edgar stuck with our English, and now we'll go to Japan. I think most of us understand the story behind Madame Butterfly and it is a sad one. (Damn Pinkerton)
