@Letty,
My goodness, I do know how to spell "should" and I was amused to see that the YouTube tribute to Bill was misspelled as well. Don't think our editor is in the studio today, so it will have to stand as is.

Here's the song in ballad style.

@firefly,
A birthday tribute for Al Hibbler, one of my all-time favs. Such a great voice. I wish more people remembered his version of this song.

@firefly,
And, another birthday tribute, this time for the very talented Angela Bassett. We all remember her great performance as Tina Turner. Here she is as Rosa Parks.

@firefly,
Michael Phelps just picked up his 7th gold medal at this year's Olympics. Since he has won more Olympic gold medals than any other athlete in modern Olympic history, I'm dedicating this fun, bouncy song to him.

Good morning from Kansas, Miss Letty! I don't have a song to play for your listeners just yet but I want to let you know that Izzie, Rockhead, and I send our love and we're reading along.

@JPB,
I'm awake now, and I'll start with this creature as a tribute to another Al.

Thanks, firefly. I think Cicely Tyson did The Rosa Parks Story as well. In my mind, I can see her walk up to a "white" fountain and take a looonnngggg drink from it.

Hey, M.D. Welcome back and I think Patti Andrews is still with us. Amazing instrument the bugle. No valves and it's all done with the lips. Gotta be good to play that instrument.

Ah, JPB, blowing kisses to the three of you. Wasn't Eva supposed to meet with you all? Here's a song for you, R.H., and Izzie.

@Letty,
How in the world does that firefly beat me to the punch. (I used to think the phrase was "beat me daddy A to the bar.")

Doesn't matter, folks, The Count and Kansas is worth playing twice, and I guess Mark Spitz's record has been broken now. Why is it that every time we have a champion, someone always accuses them of "doping"? Same thing when Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France. Rolling Eyes

@Letty,
I don't think I ever heard this version before, although it seems to be the original one. It's great.

@Letty,
Definitely worth a double listen, Miss Letty.

Izzie and I had the great fortune of meeting up in Tulsa. Izzie and young S drove there from their cabin in bugland (I'll let her tell that story) and I flew in from Chicago. Eva was at the airport to meet us both, lead the way back to Chez Eva where we got the grand tour of her beautiful home, yabbered for a bit (can you imagine?), collected Son of Eva, and enjoyed a nice lunch (more yabbering) before a final hug fest in the parking lot and heading our separate ways.

The visit with Eva was too short but we'll plan it better next time.

For Edie Gorme's birthday, let's listen to one of her Spanish songs.

@Raggedyaggie,
Thanks, firefly, JPB, and edgar for your great musical contributions. Love 'em all. (don't want them Aussies to hear that epithet of "little willie")

Well, look at this. Our Raggedy is back with a complete quartet of famous faces. Damn, that puppy is a quick learner. Thanks, PA!

Here is a funny one with Robert Culp, folks.

Very inspiring, firefly. I watched and listened two or three times. Thanks, dear.

Anyone remember this movie and the song that went with it?
