edgar, there is an arrow that you can push to get that lovely thing to play.

Good morning to you as well, Texas.

I stepped outside and saw the setting moon. This video seems to fit the day as it dawns.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mcBV-cXVWFw&feature=related

and then there is Walt Whitman's view.

When I Heard the Learned Astronomer

When I heard the learn'd astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide,
and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with
much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars.

Hey, Raggedy. Glad all is well, space puppy, and once again thanks for the great montage.

Peter Frampton has the black hole sun technique, folks, so let's listen to his pyrogenics

How could we forget Jack Nicholson, all. The first movie that I saw him in was Easy Rider

A tribute to that movie by the Byrds.

Well, folks, one of these days we're going to get the talking heads on our cyber radio. Hmmm, better make that the singing heads. Razz hinge and rock. Wouldn't that be something?

Hey, Aussie, you just reminded me of my favorite writer and performer, Johnny Mercer. Didn't know that Harold Arlen had a part of this great song.

Thanks, honey, for the great musical history.

Hello sweet Letty, from your wandering friend.

Ebony and Ivory came to mind when I was thinking about one of my son's and his good friend, Daniel.

My son, Mathew, had blond hair and green eyes. His friend Daniel, was fine boned and truly ebony. They looked so beautiful together and I'm sure they were never aware of it. They just enjoyed playing and climbing trees.

It is a beautiful, cherished memory.

Diane, Welcome back. I cannot tell you how nice it is to see you here on our little cyber radio. I loved that song by Stevie and Paul, gal. What a wonderful tribute to Matthew and Daniel, and they are just like the keys on a piano. Don't be such a stranger, honey.

Well, it's time for me to say goodnight and here is the perfect song, folks.

Everybody posted really good music today. I was tired from too much heat today and so spent the evening recuperating. Here is my one offering before I retire for the night.

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, that was a great song by Bobby that I have never heard before. Sorta reminds me of "The Little Match Girl". Any time that we heard or sang something sad, we would refer to it as "matchy".

Today is Shirley Temple's birthday, so I thought that I would do this one by Dylan in honor of her dancing partner.

Mr Bojangles appeared on an unintended album, letty. Seems he and Columbia Records were having a dispute, which resulted in Dylan putting the album, Planet Waves, on Asylumn label. Columbia retaliated with a collection of out material, released under the title, Dylan. They shortly patched things up and Planet Waves eventually moved to Columbia's label.

Ray Peterson's biggest hit was probably Tell Laura I Love Her. This song did well also. Corrina, Corrina.

edgar, you amaze me with your knowledge of recordings and their labels. Hey, Texas, I recall Corrina Corrina and Teen Angel. Didn't George Carlin do a parody on Teen Angel? Went something like:

My baby's dead,
Got hit by a train,
Mean old train,
Gonna get that train.

Nothing was sacred to that funny man, folks.

Thinking about Hank Williams today, y'all, and I think most of us agree that he was a better poet than vocalist.

We'll dedicate this to Debacle and Panz who also appreciate the lyrics.

(chord changes are awesome on this song)

Good morning WA2K.

Remembering Roy Orbison, Herve Villechaize and Sandra Dee. (It's also "guessed" that William Shakespeare was born on this day.)

Oops, forgot to acknowledge our Raggedy.

Thanks, Raggedy for the great collage. Also remember Herve. Wasn't he the one who said, "Boss, de plane, de plane"? Razz

Well, I know the only record of William Shakespeare that verifies his birth is his christening date.

My favorite sonnet by him:

Let me not to the marriage of true minds (Sonnet CXVI)

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

-- William Shakespeare

Good evening, peoples. I love Bobby Darin and Shirley Temple and Roy Orbison and Willie Shakespeare. Right now, I ask your kindly indulgence. I have to hear one of my many anthems. It's by Bob Dylan, and it's called Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues.

Thanks. I needed that.
