Another mystery, folks. To what does this song refer. Is it "Annie" or "Fanny"? Are they both girl's names or some other part of the anatomy?

Perhaps someone here can decide.

I am a lifelong fan of Peggy Lee. Her first recording earned her all of ten dollars. Here is the song, with Benny Goodman.

Don Cornell had a wonderful voice. I always thought that he should have been a bigger presence on the scene.

I own a first pressing of Music From Big Pink. The Weight is one of the cuts on it. While I don't pretend to understand all of the nuances of this song, it is one of my favorites.

edgar, I loved that WWII song by Peggy Lee. My oldest sister sang it all the time, and I used it in teaching Humanities during the war unit. The kids loved the idea that I did music in every unit of study, and they remembered stuff better.

Well, I'm going with the idea that the Weight song had to do with a woman who needed help.

Here's one by Peggy that is odd. (also like "Pass me By")

Some stations banned Is That All There Is? They feared it might tip the depressed. I love it, myself. I believe it earned her a grammy, too.

Wow! I didn't know that they almost banned that song, edgar. I think a lot of folks feel that way about things, however. Perhaps it's the too much too soon syndrome, or nothing exciting left to do.

Ah, I loved Peggy as the sexy dog in that Disney classic.

Here's Peggy's declaration to the world. She was one tough lady.

Pssst, don't go away too far, Texas.

Ah, yas. Pass Me BY. One way Peggy Lee kept herself vital, she did current songs all through her career. When Blood Sweat and Tears were popular, she recorded Spinning Wheel, for instance. No grass under her stiletto heels.

I admire her as much for her life style as I do her talent.

Did a bit of research on Peggy, and I found that she lived until she was in her 80's. She was also married to Dave Barbour, and here's one by both of them, folks.

edgar, as I once told someone, "Thank You" says volumes. I appreciate that simple acknowledgement.

I guess if we want to label Peggy, we might say "sans souci", or at least she seemed to be.

Here's one by Bon Jovi that explores "who we are" (maybe)

I don't listen to Bon Jovi that much, but when I do, I always like his music.

I never listen to Bon Jovi, edgar. I was simply trying to find a song that fit our little theme tonight. They're all right, however.

One of my favorite vocalists, folks, and I noticed on some of the comments, that Clint Eastwood may have written this song.

Time for me to say goodnight, and this song was inspired by a comment on hingehead's thread. I had forgotten how beautifully Roberta sings this, and it's about Don McLean.

On certain songs, such as this one, Roberta Flack is unbeatable. The other song is nice, too.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, what a wonderful philosophy by Tom T. and it is something to think about as we look back on our lives, Texas.

Today is Earth Day. Soooo, as the world turns. Razz

Thinking about Glen Campbell, y'all, because today is his birthday on earth day.

hingehead, Welcome back, Aussie. That was a beautiful and inspiring video. Let's just hope that each country can live up to its expectations.

Thinking of the "seven seas" today so how about one by Billy Oceans.

Good morning everybody. I always like Wichita Lineman and other Glenn Campbell songs. Don't really care for Billy Ocean, though.

Couldn't get hingehead's link to open up.
