and, edgar, I was partially correct about John Lennon.

In 1974, as a result of this activity to deport John Lennon, a wonderful and touching song was written by Neil Sedaka and Phil Cody, titled The Immigrant, which was dedicated to John Lennon.

Glad you could listen, edgar.

dj, I didn't realize that the Bee Gees did "I Started a Joke". I liked that version because the vocalist got through the heckling and won his audience over.

Of course, everyone knows this one by the Bee Gees.

I just this weekend watched Staying Alive, the John Travolta sequel to Saturday Night Fever. All those great Bee Gees songs! In fact, the Bee Gees are better than that follow up movie.

Anyone recall the generation gap music? Yikes. I do.

From the catalog of What the - ???????
Here is a song that, when I first heard it, in 1959, I said that it (mercifully) will be buried in the slag heaps of forgotten music. Surprise:

edgar, first allow me to say that "what th" song was hilarious. I really think that thing was played behind a Virizon(sp) commercial.

and, Texas, I love the bread song by Jack and Shirley.

I miss colorbook, don't you?

Here's a companion piece by Babs. She's good on this one.

Wow! Dutchy, I love that song by Peggy Lee. She was a sultry wench, no?

Thanks, for the memory, buddy. I also liked her song, "Is That All There is".

Well, my goodness, our Raggedy is back and smiling. Hey, puppy, thanks for the great montage today, and a good day to you as well.

I think we may know most of the notables, but I was curious about Don Cornell, and I found this one adapted from John Donne's famous quote.
