Well, folks, I just got back from a wonderful dinner date at the La Mer.

edgar, I simply played Alice because of Pat, Texas. Perhaps you will do Rip Van Winkle tomorrow as I most certainly will not have to be induced to sleep.

So I will say goodnight with the song that we talked about earlier

Tomorrow, world.

Hmm. The cyber monkeys ate up my link to Rip Van Winkle. Foolish imps. I have it ready to paste:

It begins with sound effects of the small ones bowling.

Good morning, WA2K radio.

edgar, never heard that one, buddy, but thanks for playing it as we are interested in songs of every era.

Here's one by B.J. Thomas with a background of the new Dr. Who.

John Paul Young, formerly of the Easybeats, has a way with a song- and a sunny outlook.
Love bees in the air, he say.

The irrepressible Dinah Washington, one of my alltime top favorite vocalists. Ever since her recording of Unforgetablemade the charts, I have loved her.

Good Afternoon WA2K. Very Happy

Some of today's celebrities (entertainment) birthdays:

Remembering Howard Keel and Don Adams:

Great quintet today, puppy, and again we appreciate your fabulous montage. Thanks, PA

Ah, Don Adams, folks. What a funny guy and spoofer. Let's listen to a tribute to him.

Bing Crosby and Jose Feliciano are a pair I never expected to see. It's a little loud, but I've always liked the song.

well, Texas, I didn't have a lot of luck getting the full gist of that great song, but thanks for the reminder that Mamma don't always gets what she wants. Razz

Folks, I don't think that I have ever heard a Spanish style guitar played any better. Jose and his instrument are one, and our entertainer from last night's dinner played his guitar almost as well. He, just as Feliciano, is from Puerto Rica, but he told us that he was never going back because of the sad memories.

Listen to this classical piece by Jose, all.

Here is a nice version of Mr Christopher Columbus I had not been familiar with. My favorite is by Dinah Washington.

Great jazz, edgar, and I think that I enjoyed Clifford Brown on Dinah Washington's "skin" song better than the lady herself.I also loved "Love is in the Air." I stepped out to see if I could take in a breath. Speaking of "breath" folks, the crying baby was absent from that Samuel Beckett video. Okay, Letty, you can quit with the love word now. Razz

Well, it seems that we are once again looking at a "world divided", and I hate that, y'all.

Hey, a teacher wrote the following song, and I truly think it is a great contender for a new national anthem.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CILIBlQ2D0Q&feature=related

I would like to add this bromide, if I may. We all love our country, but that doesn't prevent us from seeing her faults.

Let's dedicate "the red, white, and blue" to dadpad because of his blue thread, shall we?

Ray's song ought to be the national anthem, in my view. Buffy Sainte-Marie has a song I subscribe to, also.

I agree, edgar.

Well, let's hope that we will see some of our "other home" friends on our wee cyber radio, and until tomorrow, here is a beautiful classic.

Magnet

You attract the best in me
You are the love that guides mercy
You are the magnetic pole
I am captured like gravity to your soul

We repel what we cannot conceive
We find faith in what we believe
You reverse a backward thought
In your storm I am helplessly caught

I am held in your magnetic field
In your arms you are a shield
You are the substance of rare earth
A renewed life of time and birth

Like science is lost in math
We are two orbs on the same path
As atoms are to the proton
Like a magnet we are forever drawn...

I am pulled to you with trust
By elements that never rust
You hold the moon to the globe
Within my heart you are a probe

You penetrate the most troubled matter
You align in symmetry what was scattered
Charm has drawn me like a line
I devoutly worship at your shrine

Two hearts that are bound to collide
Love that will not be denied
Even as eternity draws to an end
The soul and spirit transcend

Like science is lost in math
We are two orbs on the same path
As atoms are to the proton
Like a magnet we are forever drawn...
