Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, I really like that Roger Miller song. Yes, it is a little silly, but a nice thing to awaken to, Texas.

Here's another little ditty that is silly, folks.

When I first moved to Houston, Mickey Gilley lived in Pasadina. His famous night club was in operation, and he did a local TV show. I stumbled across the show while channel surfing one day. Not knowing him to be a cousin to Jerry Lee Lewis (and Jimmy Swaggart), I felt irritated that he seemed to be aping Jerry's music. As it turned out, it's just Mickey's way. One of his big records was

edgar and all. Didn't Eddy Arnold also do "Room Full of Roses"? My word, folks, the man is still alive.

When I was just a kid, the guy who lived next door to me in Virginia sang that song, and he wasn't bad, but I didn't like it that I liked the song. Razz

Good Morning WA2K.

Let's wish a Happy 82nd to Hugh Hefner; 54th to Dennis Quaid; 69th to Michael Learned (The mom on the Waltons) and a Happy, whatever age he is, to Cheeta (rare baby photo) Very Happy

Ragman, I didn't know about Eddy's wife. Thanks once again for the info.

There's our Raggedy with her montage of notables. I think you may have missed our Tarzan song from Disney, PA.

Happy birthday, Cheetah.

Here's one from Dennis Quaid. Had no idea that he sang, y'all.

Enjoyed your Tarzan video very much, Letty, however, it's just not the same without Johnny.

Don't forget, when you have time, to check out my Youtube tribute to Mr. Robeson. Very Happy

Wow, I just listened to Paul, Raggedy. What a tremendous voice and what a sad life. A man with genius and talent is so often misunderstood. If I recall correctly, Virginia once had what was know as a type of communism. It was called the "common kettle", but like most socially equal societies, there were those who contributed and those who did nothing, but claimed the benefits.

Another from the same show, folks

Love it. And especially since it emphasizes "The One and Only". Laughing

A friend used to laugh when Johnny, who could barely speak, would say "Be back soon. Going to the "escarpment". Wondered if Jane brought a dictionary with her.

Nice rendition of "Can't Help Lovin' That Man", too.

Can you imagine diving off an escarpment, Raggedy?

Well, folks, here's the best that we can do with Hugh.

and the lyrics.

My baby she is made out of love
Like one of those bunnies out of a Playboy Club
But she got somethin' much greater than gold
Crazy 'bout that girl 'cause she got so much soul

I said she got the kind of lovin'
Kissin' and a-huggin'
Sure is mellow
Glad that I'm her fellow and I know
That she knocks me off my feet
Have mercy on me
'Cause she knocks me off my feet
There is no girl in the whole world
That can love me like you do

My baby when she walks by
All the fellows go, ooooooo, and I know why
It's simply 'cause that girl she looks so fine
And if she ever leaves me
I would lose my mind

She got the kind of lovin'
Kissin' and a-huggin'
Sure is mellow
Glad that I'm her fellow and I know
That she knocks me off my feet
Have mercy on me
'Cause she knocks me off my feet, hey
There is no girl in the whole world
That can love me like you do

Yeah, everybody in the neighborhood
Will testify that my girl she looks so good
And she's so fine
She'd give eyesight to the blind
And if she ever leaves me I would lose my mind

She got the kind of lovin'
Kissin' and a-huggin'
Sure is mellow
Glad that I'm her fellow and I know
That she knocks me off my feet
Have mercy on me
'Cause she knocks me off my feet
There is no girl in the whole world
That can love me like you do

Baby, yeah, you got that soulful feel
Yeah, it's all right
Mercy, mercy

Hey, all. Our Piffka is back and she's in Scottland, so let's dedicate this lovely song to her.

Bill Monroe and Rattlesnake Annie
Trouble in Mind
Bill Monroe is the sort of artist I revere, but I rarely can listen to more than one of his songs at a time.

I love those women. But, I never would have thought about casting them together like that. That was wonderful.
