Oh, my, Francis. You know how; Raggedy knows how; eoe knows how; the entire world knows how. I have that picture (decoupage version) in my kitchen and I like it, fake or no; however my version is much better than the one depicted from Google. Something odd about the eyes.

Engaging composition and subject matter, but the coloring seems very dull and drab. Perhaps it needs restoration, or are these colors what the artist intended, hmmm...I wonder...

Eva, the melon that the street urchin is eating is a casaba, introduced into this country by the Armenians. I like the drabness, because it compliments my kitchen scheme without dominating it. I must let our listeners hear the contributions that so many immigrants have given to America. The bit of information about the casaba came via Saroyan, a great Armenian/American writer.

a smile, listeners.

quote for the day:
"If you want to behold a truly religious man
in action, go to Fresno and watch a farmer
watering his trees, vines and plants."

C.I. You are laugh inspiring. I wish I could post more of that sort of thing. I'm trying, with the help of Raggedy and lightwizard and an attempt by Jespah.

Thought for the afternoon.

I smell another Jamie Foxx/Ray in Joaquin's coming performance as Johnny Cash. He's a wonderful young actor and he's gonna eat that role up. I can just feel it.

Indeed he is eoe. Since I have never heard Joaquin, or Kevin Spacey sing, I can't imagine what they will sound like, but as far as acting is concerned, I have no doubts about either. I saw Foxx for the first time, as you, know on Collateral, so I am looking forward to seeing Ray.

I was trying to find the lyrics? to a song that is funny. Have no idea where it came from, but it's called Manumanum.

We really need to try and keep info and fun stuff at a maximum, and try and downplay horror stuff. In the background I can hear the TV saying that they have how found a sick, and I mean SICK serial killer in Kansas.

dj, I'm a wee bit confused. (so, that's par for the course). Are you a musician? or do you just like to listen along?

No problem with the plug, however.

You know, edgar and dj. I love to listen and I love to sing. I love to do so many things. At one time, I would sit alone in my rec room and play albums over and over again.

Now, I just pull the music out of my head.

As, my friend, Bill, told me: Letty, you just bathe in music. Yes, listeners, I do. As I'm sure do most of you.

In my head, right now, I am recalling Billy Joel's "My Life" . How often I played that song as I got ready to go to work.

Got a call from an old friend we used to be real close
said he couldnt go on the american way
closed the shop sold a house baught a ticket to the west coast
now he gives them a stand-up routine in LA

I dont need you to worry for me cos im alright
i dont want you to tell me its time to come home
I dont care what you say anymore this is my life
go ahead with your own life leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance
i never said i was a victim of circumstance
i stil belong, dont get me wrong
you can speak your mind but not on my time

They will tell you you cant sleep alone in a strange place
then they'll tell you you cant sleep with somebody else
oh but sooner or later you sleep in your own space
either way its ok you wake up with yourself

I dont need you to worry for me cos im alright
i dont want you to tell me its time to come home
I dont care what you say anymore this is my life
go ahead with your own life leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance
i never said i was a victim of circumstance
i still belong, dont get me wrong
you can speak your mind but not on my time

I dont care what you say anymore this is my life
go ahead with your own life leave me alone.

all mistakes are the property of the person who posted these lyrics on google. Rolling Eyes

Anybody a Jerry Butler fan?

Only The Strong Survive - Jerry Butler

I see you sittin' there all alone
Crying your eyes out
While everything's going wrong
You know there's gonna be
A whole lot of trouble in your life
Listen to me, get up off your knees
'Cause only the strong survive

Only the strong survive
Only the strong survive
Hey, you gotta be strong
You gotta hold on
I said don't give up, no don't

I said don't go around
With your head looking down
Dont you let'em make you feel like a clown
There's a lot of opportunity
Out there just waiting for you
But you'll never succeed if you've given up
And say your life is through
Listen this minute what I'm tellin' you

Only the strong survive
Only the strong survive
Hey, you gotta be strong
Gotta hold on
You gotta be a man, take a stand

Only the strong survive
Only the strong survive

Weak fall by the wayside
You gotta hold on
You gotta keep on, keep on
Keep on, keep on, keep on gettin' on

'Cause only the strong survive
Only the strong survive
Weak fall by the wayside
You gotta be strong
You gotta hold on
You gotta keep goin' on

Only the strong survive
Only the strong survive
Weak fall by the wayside
You gotta be a man
You gotta take a stand

Get up, set your body in motion
You knnw the strong survive
Wake up and get your education
So you can keep your family alive
Get away from negative situations
It can only bring you a lot of frustrations
'Cause only the strong survive

Hey, you gotta be strong
Gotta hold on
You gotta be a man, take a stan

sorry, edgar. Don't know Jerry, just Rhett. Encouraging words, however.

My word, George. I suspect if we all attend the Episcopal church, we'll hear those chants aplenty.(not to mention the Roman Catholic Church)

You know something, listeners. I have to admire the survival ability of Pope Paul. I think it must be his Polish genes. Let's see if I can rummage around and find find a chant or two, just for you. Smile
