Not only have I not seen a James Bond film, I have never watched an Arnold Schwartzenager movie.

Well, edgar. Although Arnie wasn't one thing like the Conan books, he wasn't bad in those films.

Hey, folks, our Mr. Turtle is all right; he's just off on a jaunt to Arizona with his truly, truly fair. <smile>

Wow! That's a song. Well, I guess I am once again off to the archives.

I have a turn off level, and they broached it. I resisted watching The Godfather, until about two years ago (and I'm sorry I gave in).

Eddy Arnold had a way with a song.

Anytime you're feelin' lonely
Anytime you're feelin' blue
Anytime you feel down hearted
That will prove your love for me is true

Anytime you're thinkin 'bout me
That's the time I'll think of you
Anytime you say you want me back again
That's the time I'll come back home to you

Anytime your world is lonely
And you'll find true friends are few
Anytime you see a rainbow
That will be a sign the storm is through

Anytime will be the right time
Anytime at all will do
Anytime you're sure you want only my love
That's the time I'll come back home to you

--- Instrumental Interlude ---

Anytime you're thinkin' 'bout me
That's the time I'll think of you
Anytime you say you want me back again
That's the time I'll come back home to you

Bridge Over Troubled Water

As recorded by Simon & Garfunkel

When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

Sail on silvergirl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.

And here it is, listeners:

Have you ever been lonely
Have you ever been blue
Have you ever loved someone
Just as I love you

Can't you see that I'm sorry
For each mistake I made
Can't you see I've changed, dear
Can't you see that I've paid

Oh, be a little forgivin'
Take me back in your heart
How can I go on livin'
Now that we're apart

If you knew what I been thru
You would know why I ask you
Have you ever been lonely
Have you ever been blue

Be a little forgivin'
Take me back in your heart
How can I go on livin'
Now that we're apart

If you knew what I been thru
You would know why I ask you
Have you ever been lonely
Have you ever been blue

a sad song from the beautiful south

Alone
The Beautiful South

Like the contents of your handbag
You don't know why it's there
People ask you where you're heading
You just answer "anywhere"

We don't mean to be this vague
It just happens that we are
No-one asked us to elaborate
We just shrug our shoulders and be

And like the stories that just happened
No-one thought of, no-one planned
We could have ruled, we could have conquered
Then we could have been a man

We could be ex-husband
We could be ex-wife
But no-one looks at the menu in a greasy spoon life

Alone, alone
Half an hour is seven hours
One day is several months
Alone, alone
A month is a calendar
A year can be a decade spent
Alone

He knows "hello" in eighteen languages
"I love you" in only one
By the time he's got his phrase-book
The chance is usually gone

And we feel ourselves quite prepared
But quite prepared for what
We always took the lead
Before we actually knew the plot

And you can tell where we've been shopping
By the bags beneath our eyes
Make-up shoulders burden
But the smile never lies

We could be ex-husband
We could be ex-wife
But no-one looks at the menu in a greasy spoon life

Alone, alone
Half an hour is seven hours
One day is several months
Alone, alone
A month is a calendar
A year can be a decade spent
Alone

So empty at the airport
You don't set off the doors
We used to feel like chorus girls
And now we feel like whores

Hearts built like reservoirs
Words built like dams
Thoughts built like juggernauts
Our actions built like prams

And when the wind blows into our face
We should be warmer and not colder
Well, what price the charges
On this cargo that we shoulder

We could be ex-husband
We could be ex-wife
But no-one looks at the menu in a greasy spoon life

Alone, alone
Half an hour is seven hours
One day is several months
Alone, alone
A month is a calendar
A year can be a decade spent
Alone

And we only smoke when bored
So we do two packs a day
And we've lost the difference
Between bored and lonely anyway

Hey, folks. It's Sunday and I am remembering my Mamma today. She loved this one, so in her memory I am playing it for her:

C. Austin Miles (1868-1946)

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain

Why did I do that? Rolling Eyes

Summertime Love

Many times I've been told
By the wise and the old
Something good I'm supposed to remember
If my first love I've found
In the warmth of July
It'll cool in the nip of September
Now they point to the skies
Do the old and the wise
And they speak of a chill in the air
But I don't care

For still I love my summertime love
Still I love the kissing and the courting
Still I love my summertime love
With a heart still summertime true
Still I love my summertime love
Let the seasons change as they do

Oh still I love my summertime love
Still I love the kissing and the courting
Still I love my summertime love
With a heart still summertime true

Belafonte

Well, edgar, we all know how you love Harry, right? Thanks, Texas. Lovely lyrics.

Ok, Bob of Boston gave us a smile with Bill and Hillary, so since we are an equal time radio station, how about a grin:

Donald Rumsfeld briefed the President this morning.

He told Bush that 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq.

To Rumsfeld's amazement, all of the colour ran from Bush's
face, then he collapsed onto his desk, head in hands, visibly
shaken and almost whimpering.

Finally, he composed himself and asked Rumsfeld, "Just
exactly how many is a brazillion?"

sent to me by the wizard of light.
