Never Been to Spain
Elvis Presley Lyrics

(words & music by Hoyt Axton)

Well I've never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it
They don't abuse it
Never gonna loose it
I can't refuse it

Well, I've never been to England
But I kind of like the Beatles
So I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Needles
Can you feel it
Must be weary
Oh so good... oh feel so good

Well I've never been to heaven
But I've been in Oklahoma
Well, they tell me I was born there
But I really don't remember
In Oklahoma or Arizona
What does it matter
What does it matter...

Great dedication, edgar. <smile>

Hey, Try. Thanks for the Elvis reminder about Spain. Guess from whence cometh this line:

"...I long for the day I can get under way and look for those castles in Spain....."

No problem, edgar.

So, it's a Spain day, folks?

Lady of Spain, I adore you
Right from the night I first saw you
My heart has been yearning for you
What else could any heart do?
Lady of Spain, I'm appealing
Why should my lips be concealing
All that my eyes are revealing?
Lady of Spain, I love you

Night in Madrid, blue and tender
Spanish moon makes silver splendor
Music throbbing, plaintive sobbing notes of a guitar
While ardent caballeros serenade:

Lady of Spain, I adore you
Right from the night I first saw you
My heart has been yearning for you
What else could any heart do?
Lady of Spain, I'm appealing
Why should my lips be concealing
All that my eyes are revealing?
Lady of Spain, I love you.

Hey, listeners. Don ain't so bad, either:

Castles in Spain Lyrics

This is the easy time
The first and last river crossed
A happy time

Can you hear the voices
Calling - calling - calling
Go on - go on - go on keep moving
Its so easy to see why

He who will rise will fall again
I see your eyes
Castles in spain

Push your way across
And did I feel uneasy here
You settled in

Can you hear ...
You're here and you know why

He who will ...

Can you hear ...
What can I do

You settled in
A happy time
What can I do

I think the problem with some of my friends is that they do not listen to music anymore...

Thanks for keeping this love for the art alive...

(My acoustic guitar is and extension of my physical body...)

Music feeds the soul...

(Dedicated to Letty)

I've Got The Music In Me

Ain't got no trouble in my life
No foolish dream to make me cry
I'm never frightened or worried
You know I always get by.
I heat up
I cool down
Something gets in my way I go around it
Don't let life get me down
Gonna take it the way that I found it

I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me

I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me

You say that life is a circle
But that ain't the way that I found it
Oh...gonna move in a straight line
Keeping my feet firmly on the ground
I heat up
I cool down
I got words in my head so I sing them
Don't let life get me down
I can't hold onto the blues so I play them

I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me

I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me
I've got the music in me.

Thanks Smile

Yikes, Try. That song is too weird. Think I had rather listen to morse code. <big smile>

Actually, folks, I noticed also on edgar's reference that Castles in Spain was rather like Don Quixote meets Edgar A. Poe.and they both do the Dance Macabre.

Why, Rex, what a nice gesture, Maine. Thank you, dear. It's nice to be noticed for a change. Yes, music is an extension of the soul just as computers are an extension of the mind.

Thank you... Letty

I like to think we hold a infinite library of music in our minds that we only need to think about a song to hear it.

Very nice post Rex. Sometimes musicians forget that everyone has music in them...it's just a matter of bringing it out.

BABY COME BACK TO ME
(The Morse Code Of Love) Lyrics

Dit dot ditty dit dot a ditty ditty
Dit dot ditty dit dot a ditty ditty
Dit dot ditty dit dot a ditty ditty
Dit dot ditty, Baby come home to me

I sent my baby a telegram asking to be her man
Begging her to come back home to me (Baby come home to me)
Oh I dotted the I's and I crossed the T's
And I'm begging pretty please
Honey honey, come back home to me (Baby come home to me)

Dit dot?.
Baby I want your love
Woo-oo
Baby I need your love
Ooo
Honey honey come back home to me (Come back home to me)
Dit dot?
Got to have your love
Woo-oo
Can't live without your love
Woo-oo
Honey honey come back home to me (Come back home to me)

Oh I made mistakes, yes that's the truth
But the biggest one I made with you
Honey honey, come back home to me (Baby come home to me)
I thought that you would understand
I'm just a one woman man
Not like before so come back home to me (Baby come home to me)

Dit dot...
Baby I want your love
Woo-oo
Baby I need your love
Ooo
Honey honey come back home to me (Come back home to me)
Dit dot...
Got to have your love
Woo-oo
Can't live without your love
Woo-oo
Honey honey come back home to me (Come back home to me)

Dit dot ditty dit dot a ditty ditty
Ooo, aahh (Baby come home to me)
I said
Come back come back to me
Come back come back to me
(Repeat to fade)

Brian Wilson
Barenaked Ladies

Drove downtown in the rain nine-thirty on a Tuesday night,
just to check out the late-night record shop.
Call it impulsive, call it compulsive, call it insane,
but when I'm surrounded I just can't stop.

It's a matter of instinct, it's a matter of conditioning,
it's a matter of fact.
You can call me Pavlov's dog.
Ring a bell and I'll salivate. How'd you like that?
Dr. Landy tell me you're not just a pedagogue,
cause right now I'm

Chorus
Lying in bed just like Brian Wilson did
Well I'm lying in bed just like Brian Wilson did.

So I'm lying here, just staring at the ceiling tiles.
and I'm thinking about what to think about.
Just listening and relistening to Smiley Smile,
and I'm wondering if this is some kind of creative drought
because I am

Chorus

And if you want to find me I'll be out in the sandbox,
wondering where the hell all the love has gone.
Playing my guitar and building castles in the sun,
and singing "Fun, Fun, Fun."

Chorus

I had a dream that I was three hundred pounds
and though I was very heavy,
I floated 'til I couldn't see the ground
I floated 'til I couldn't see the ground
Somebody help me, I couldn't see the ground
Somebody help me, I couldn't see the ground
Somebody help me because I'm

Chorus

Drove downtown in the rain nine-thirty on a Tuesday night.
Just to check out the late-night record shop.
Call it impulsive, call it compulsive, call it insane;
but when I'm surrounded I just can't stop.

Very nice post, panz Rolling Eyes

Hey, Try. I never get over what a cue in the environment can do. Great comeback, buddy.

And would you look at this, listeners? There's Canada with a perfect reply.

Bare Naked Ladies and Pavlov in the company of Brian Wilson and Manson.

Strange that, because I was thinking of Skinner and his conditioning.

Question of the day.

In behavioral psychology, what is "chaining"?

Take these chains from my heart and set me free
You're grow cold and no longer care for me
All my faith in you is gone but the heartaches linger on
Take these chains from my heart and set me free

Take these tears from my eyes and let me see
Just a spark of the love that use to be
If you love somebody new let me me find a new love too
Take these chains from my heart and set me free

Give my heart just a word of sympathy
Be as fair to my heart as you can be
Then if you no longer care for the love being there
Take these chains from my heart and set me free

Take these chains from my heart and set me free
You're grow cold and no longer care for me
All my faith in you is gone but the heartaches linger on
Take these chains from my heart and set me free

Comeback You say! I never made it, to make a comeback. Laughing

A Boy Named Sue Lyrics
Artist: Johnny Cash

My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn't leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me "Sue."

Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke
And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk,
It seems I had to fight my whole life through.
Some gal would giggle and I'd get red
And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head,
I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named "Sue."

Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean,
My fist got hard and my wits got keen,
I'd roam from town to town to hide my shame.
But I made a vow to the moon and stars
That I'd search the honky-tonks and bars
And kill that man who gave me that awful name.

Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July
And I just hit town and my throat was dry,
I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew.
At an old saloon on a street of mud,
There at a table, dealing stud,
Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me "Sue."

Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad
From a worn-out picture that my mother'd had,
And I knew that scar on his cheek and his evil eye.
He was big and bent and gray and old,
And I looked at him and my blood ran cold
And I said: "My name is 'Sue!' How do you do!
Now your gonna die!!"

Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes
And he went down, but to my surprise,
He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear.
But I busted a chair right across his teeth
And we crashed through the wall and into the street
Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer.

I tell ya, I've fought tougher men
But I really can't remember when,
He kicked like a mule and he bit like a crocodile.
I heard him laugh and then I heard him cuss,
He went for his gun and I pulled mine first,
He stood there lookin' at me and I saw him smile.

And he said: "Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough
And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along.
So I give ya that name and I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's the name that helped to make you strong."

He said: "Now you just fought one hell of a fight
And I know you hate me, and you got the right
To kill me now, and I wouldn't blame you if you do.
But ya ought to thank me, before I die,
For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in ya eye
Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you "Sue.'"

I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my pa, and he called me his son,
And I came away with a different point of view.
And I think about him, now and then,
Every time I try and every time I win,
And if I ever have a son, I think I'm gonna name him
Bill or George! Anything but Sue!

Speaking of Sue. There' s a sioux named boy on here. Razz

Black Moon Rising
» Dreamcatcher

Into the night where I will dream
Seeing all these things that you could not see
Drinking the blood from a devils hand
Chewing at my soul just like burning sand
I'm right here listening to the call
(bleep) the sisters - having them all
In the hands of this devil now
Now I bury myself...deep in the ground

...and I know...that I'm dreaming...
...and I know...that I'm screaming...

Into this night where I will dream
Death by numbers where the children scream
I'm right here listening to them call
This devil is walking in my everfall
I'm right here dancing in his hell
The waltz of the demons - ringing their bell
There is nothing left for this devil in me
(bleep) my wrists - making me bleed

...and I know...that I'm dreaming...
...and I know...that I'm screaming...

The Rhyming Song

Fozzie: Let's all sing the rhyming song,
The rhyming song, the rhyming song,
Let's take turns and rhyme together,
The rhyming song.

Scooter: I was hungry but now I'm not,
The rhyming song, the rhyming song,
'Cause I ate some beans and grapes! (pause)
The rhyming song!

Both: Let's all sing the rhyming song,
The rhyming song, the rhyming song,
Let's take turns and rhyme together,
The rhyming song.

Annie Sue: I left my knees in your car,
The rhyming song, the rhyming song,
My laundry's ready at half past nine!
The rhyming song.

All: Let's all sing the rhyming song,
The rhyming song, the rhyming song,
Let's take turns and rhyme together,
The rhyming song.

Link: The stars are twinkling in the sky,
The rhyming song, the rhyming song,
There's no hot water in my hotel!
The rhyming song.

Scooter: This is not the rhyming song,
All: The rhyming song, the rhyming song.
Fozzie: I know it's not the rhyming song!
All: The rhyming song.

Link: What'll we do now?
Annie Sue: I don't know!
All: The rhyming song, the rhyming song.
Fozzie: Let's jump up and down,
and wave our arms in the air,
and get off the stage!

Hey, folks. Anyone see Mr. Turtle? Walter is around or was. That French brat is back and McTag is probably having a nip with his nipper.

For our Raggedy:

Arabian Nights (2000) (TV)
Long ago, the Sultan Said has gone mad after his traumatizing near assassination in which his wife collaborated and died at his hands as a result. Now he has a paranoid suspicion of women which he plans to express in a diabolical plan to marry a woman from the harem and then have her executed the very next morning. To prevent this, the Grand Visir's daughter and a childhood friend of the Sultan, Scheherezade, offers herself to be that bride. Now, she must gamble that her plan will work as she tries to cure his madness by telling him story after wonderous story which include the tales of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp. All the while, the Sultan's villainous brother is making plans of his own and Scheherezade's stories are more useful against him than anyone can anticipate.

Sorry, PA. There were no songs.

Oops. Sorry, folks. I got carried away. That time of evening, you know.

For the Sinatra fans:

Long ago and far away, I dreamed a dream one day
And now that dream is here beside me
Long the skies were overcast but now the clouds have passed
You're here at last

Chills run up and down my spine, Aladdin's lamp is mine
The dream I dreamed was not denied me
Just one look and then I knew
That all I longed for long ago was you

Chills run up and down my spine, Aladdin's lamp is mine
The dream I dreamed was not denied me
Just one look and then I knew
That all I longed for long ago was you

There now. That goes with the movie. <smile>
