@Lash,
It's nothing like G o T, more like Narnia, but a grown up sort of Narnia.

Series 1, only 3 episodes should be out there somewhere.

G of T is shown over here at 2am as well as the 'normal' 9pm Monday night screening. I have it on tape and will be watching it later on this afternoon.

Well done Theon for not being a dick, at long last. I think he will be the one who seriously fucks up Cersei's plans with his uncle and the golden company.

Interesting that Bran didn't know Jon Snow was legitimate until Sam told him about the documents he'd seen, and even then he asked if it was true or not before seeing for himself.

He might be able to see everything, but he's got to look for it first.

@Lash,
Well played the writers for leading us up the garden path until the last second. It wasn't totally unexpected when Sansa turned on Littlefinger, but it wouldn't have been totally unexpected if she'd gone for Arya either. I'm just glad how it played out.

I actually had trouble enjoying this last episode (and I don't think I have ever said this before). The mushy scene between Jon and Dany didn't work for me.... it felt like watching a Hallmark movie.

Also, I don't find Arya's behavior believable (maybe it will be more understandable once we understand the direction this is going). I suspect that Sansa is going to turn the tables on Little Finger... she is plotting something. I think Arya is part of the set up.

I hope I fully enjoy the fall of Little Finger next week.

I want to point out... my power of prediction has been pretty spot on in this thread in several posts. I was wrong in my suspicion that Arya would die (although it was just a guess and they did fake in that direction). But I seem to have been correct about Jaime.

And, no, I don't have a problem patting myself in the back.

That wall didn't hold up very well against the ice dragon... did it. That was a pretty effective scene. I have mixed feeling about Theon killing Euron, in an earlier thread I suspected that he will get a chance at redemption, but I am not sure that this story is being told well.

I had to look it up on Google. Apparently Dany is Jon Snow's Aunt. Still a little creepy in my book.

I enjoyed the scene between Jaime and Cersei. I thought Cersei was very convincing, her confrontation with Jaime was believable.

And Tyrion is still the best character in the series.

@maxdancona,
Hey, everyone is invited to revel in correct predictions and forget about getting it wrong. It's been so much fun discussing it with everyone who stopped by.

I'm finally feeling degrees better about Theon, but still smarting over Yara. I give him a bit of leeway due to the mind game Ramsey played on him. Hope he can stand a bit taller for himself and his sister.

LOVED the Sansa/Arya scene. Really appreciated Bran coming through the cobwebs to make some useful statements.

I enjoyed Brienne's conversation with The Hound. Did not ever believe Cersei would be true to her word about joining forces with Danerys and the North. Do not believe Cersei would let Tyrian leave her presence alive, so smacking writers on the back of their heads.

Also, I find even the most love-laden reasoning of a lifetime of intimacy not sufficient for a defiant Jaime to escape Cersei's wrath. The Mountain had unsheathed. Smh.

Is Tormund dead? 😖

Am I the only one who thought Jon was unsexy and had the worst hair of his seven year tenure for Sex Night? Unsexy! (Although he has an awesome ass.). He looked....small, too, in close-ups during the sex scene. Like a mini-Jon trying to climb Mt. Dani. Very disappointing.

I'm thrilled that Jaime will be fighting with the North. The possibility for relationship shifts is exponential and intriguing.

But six damn episodes.

In two damn years.

I disagree with you. I thought this scene worked well. Cersei has always been calculating... she is still playing the game.

She calculated that Tyrian was worth more to her alive than dead. If she had killed him her ruse would have been impossible (and she would have risked the instant wrath of the Mother of Dragons).

@Lash,
Theon has been a bit PTSD ever since he escaped from Ramsey. During the fight he seemed to realise that nothing could be done to him that hadn't been done before, and not having testicles can be an advantage.

He was always snotty towards Jon when they were kids, using his bastard status against him, which meant he had a lot of apologising to do, not just the recent stuff. Having Jon's forgiveness seems to have been a catalyst.

We've known Dany is Jon's aunt since last season, what we didn't know is that Jon is legitimate. Dany will probably be alright re incest, it is the Targaryan way, but Jon was brought up a Stark he may well weird out.

All I could hear was Rik Mayall anyway. During an episode of Bottom he's unknowingly watching a porn film, and says the female protagonist is probably the male's aunt. After watching it for a bit he says, "I wish I had an auntie like that."

In the meantime you can enjoy Gemma Whelan in Horrible Histories, here she's Enid Blyton.

Gemma Whelan interviewed a few weeks back about Greyjoys.
Quote:

Last week’s episode finished with a dramatic sea battle, Euron Greyjoy ruining Tyrion Lannister’s plans to take King’s Landing and almost killing Yara.

Notably, the final moments also saw Theon recede back into the cretinous Reek, jumping overboard rather than attempt to save his sister.

Despite some fans taking issue with Theon’s decisions, Gemma Whelan — who plays Yara — sympathises with the character.

Speaking at the London Film and Comic Con, via Radio Times, she said: "I think a really good point has been made and he has PTSD [Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome].

"He’s not making a conscious decision at that point to abandon her - he’s spooked and he is overtaken by something stronger than himself and he does jump.”

Whelan added how, even without the devastating anxiety disorder, Theon made the right call: "He’s not conscious of abandoning Yara. However, had he been and had he thought ‘I should try and help her’, one step forward would have had me killed, surely, so I think he’s made a great decision for all of those reasons. He survived and who knows what happens next?”

Meanwhile, Euron actor Pilou Asbæk has hinted at the character’s fate, saying: “He knows his time is spare. He knows he’s going to die at one point. And if you ask me, it’s probably going to be spectacular. I hope so. But right now, he’s in for a ride.”

@izzythepush,
Well-considered analysis! Thanks for links to Gemma.

I think you're right about the incest issue. I'm completely desensitized because of the Lannisters, but Jon is rather earnest, and may not be down with the whole Aunty bumping.

@Lash,
We get a programme over here called Thronecast, shown after GofT usually featuring actors who played dead characters. I get a lot of it from there.

This is the only full episode I can find, sorry it's a bit old.

I bet I'll be voted down for saying this, but "Twin Peaks - the Return" blows everything on TV, including G of T, into the weeds. Finale next week.

Multiple endings will be filmed for the final episode of Game of Thrones to stop the storyline leaking.
HBO's President of Programming Casey Bloys says even the stars of the show won't know how it ends.
"I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they're going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens.
"You have to do that on a long show. When you're shooting, people know," he told an audience at a US college.
"So they're going to shoot multiple versions so that there's no real definitive answer until the end."
The seventh season of Game of Thrones was hit by several high-profile leaks.
Hackers released scripts, HBO documents and unbroadcast episodes from other TV shows.
Four people were arrested in India after a pirated episode was uploaded from an online streaming service in Mumbai.
Another instalment was mistakenly released early in Europe, copied and shared online.
