Movie Survey

Reply Sat 20 May, 2017 08:56 pm
My friend was shocked when I told him that I had not seen certain iconic movies that he believes virtually everyone has seen. I told him that he might be surprise of how many people had not seen the movies he was referring to. To test a theory, we put together a list of 10 iconic movies that he believes virtually everyone has seen. Let's take a fun random unscientific survey among A2k members.

Of these ten specific movies which ones have you seen?
And which ones you have not seen?

1. Star Wars (Original 1977 movie)
2. Titanic
3. Jaws
4. E.T. (Extra Terrestial)
5. The Matrix
6. Forrest Gump
7. Avatar
8. Dark Knight (this is a Batman movie)
9. Rocky Horror Picture Show
10. The Godfather

My mistake. It was just a typing error. I already corrected the mistake on my original post.

@Real Music,
Seen them all. I am a movie fanatic. I have watched way over 1000 movies on Netflix since I joined in 2007. Most of those on your list are shown on regular cable tv quite often.

@Real Music,
I never have seen Star Wars (I've not seen any Star Wars movies), The Matrix, Forest Gump, Dark Knight or Avatar.

I have seen Titanic, Jaws (saw the original twice in the same theater, have seen all Jaws movies), E.T., Rocky Horror and the Godfather.

5 seen and 5 not.

Unless Dark Knight is the original Batman movie, that's the only one I haven't seen.

Prefer to have only A2K members participate in survey. I appreciate your participation as well as everyone else who has participated.

@Real Music,
Your choice is all very modern, the oldest films are Star Wars and The Godfather, where're the older iconic films? No Sound of Music, Casablanca, Gone With The Wind or Wizard Of Oz.

Not seen Avatar, or Titanic, seen ET in bits and pieces but not sat through it in one go. I've seen all the rest.

@Real Music,
I've seen them all. Some (or most) when they came out. Cult classics like Rocky Horror still make me smile. Should add Little Shop of Horrors to the list. Maybe even Harold and Maude

Re Cameron, I worked in the same not so large building for years. Opinions will vary, and I don't personally know him. A good friend who worked with him, I take it as not an exactly an employee as such, though there for years, did, was strongly against him. It was a building in the Marina del Rey area.

@Phoenix32890,
Me either, and hi! Phoenix, so nice to see you.

I guess we were odd as a couple, movie interested, and gifted to live in a city, LA, with a plethora of world movies, and a ultimately wonderful local theater, the Fox Venice. It's recognized, or I hope it is.
