And most of the gaddam info on the fed's site is for the employers of household help.... not for the employees.

You might want to very discreetly talk to someone (not your own broker or agent) about the liability implications of driving the children in your car while you're working. It's possible that you should have higher coverages, and I believe that as a business cost the applicable portion of the higher premium may be a credit for you.

I know that here, if you are driving the children while you are at work, and if you have an accident, your policy would be cancelled ab initio if you had not declared that activity, and you would have no coverage for any resulting litigation.

I'm not sure about your state, but I do know that this is also the case in a number of U.S. states.

I use my car. My ins would go up, the additional cost of insurance is a deductable amount. I think I just need to fork over a little cash and have someone else do it for me. And hope that that person can swing something I can't figure out for myself.

I just spent a solid 5.5 hours at the computer trying to figure it out. I'm tired and cranky and really upset. See you all tomorrow.

Actually shes a practicing witch doctor so HMO's have a problem with that.......Keeping a diary are we?
Perhaps shes avoided the IRS completely up to this point an now they'll be on the lookout for her....watch out, never know whos going to go down in the crossfire.
Do we need more caffeine this morning perhaps? Maybe its something stronger missing from the diet?

Broom?

Won't it depend on the "age" of the broom. Check under section on "Broom Depreciation".

Ok, does this seem pretty clear-cut to you all?

IRS on Household Help (including nannies)

"Household work is work done in and around your home by the following people.

babysitters
cleaning people
housekeepers
nannies
health aids
private nurses"

It details that the person works in the (in this case) child's house and uses things provided by the parents. In this case, they should have been withholding taxes from my pay for the last year and I shouldn't be paying anything extra. The only ify bit is that they do not detail how I perform my duties.
