I read a thread in a Chinese forum just now titled The German Teaching Assistant Angrily Leaves China: Your Education Is A Crime!
The thread revealed that the German was heart broken when he saw 4-year-old Chinese children tried hard reciting Pinyin (Chinese phonetic symbols) and 5-year-old children studied hard in learning arithmetic of how to add and subtract. The German said that in Germany 8-year-old children there only know how to sow seeds, grow flowers and weed grass, or know how to simply assemble or disassemble toys; they don't know 1+1=2 at all! But their ability when reaching 18 years old is more powerful than that of 28-year-old Chinese adults! (I've quoted the original Chinese text below in case you know Mandarin-in white color. You have to drag your mouse to show them)
I doubt that an 8-year-old German child doesn't know how to calculate 1+1=2! Please confirm me it is a lie!
Thanks in anticipation.

[/quote]
