Is anyone able to identify this 15c oil painting?

Your comments welcome. I've tried posting this several times but my post keeps getting deleted. Could you please let me know if I'm doing something wrong in this thread rather than deleting. I don't want to upset anyone or break any rules but this is a real query!

Thanks

Rich

@richhemery,
Apparently there is £1,000 for anyone who figures it out.

That's a van Eyck.

@richhemery,
It's certainly done in his style.

@McGentrix,
Do you think? My painting is nowhere near the quality of his work... in my opinion!

Minor artist of The French School about 1545 or so. Possibly Wendel Dietterlin. Or maybe Hans Wertinger, Colijn de Coter, Joachim Patinir or Herri met de Bles. Or maybe not.

Nobody is going to win that "prize" because nobody is likely to prove its provenance.

And it's 16th century at least, not "15c".

It's all in the faces. Everyone look like Putin. Look at other van Eyck's.

@richhemery,
No idea but apparently your pic was too big. So I just resized it and thought I would post it:

Why not just do this?

@centrox,
I want it in the original post otherwise people may lose interest. It won't let me edit my original post for whatever forum rule.

@richhemery,
See Contact Us at the bottom of every page in order to write to the mods.

I agree with Centrox re letting well enough alone, but I'm not a mod. If I remember correctly, the time limit for editing a post is under ten minutes. There are good reasons for this kind of limit.

Hi all

The website has now been updated with the influx of comments that have been submitted from other art history forums, Facebook etc.

I'd still be glad to get your views and thoughts on it -- I'm sure there's some new readers out there.

Regards
