Reply Mon 18 Oct, 2004 04:23 pm
I have started a word game with my friends (yes I'm nerd Laughing )
the object of which is to collect the most names of famous people with animal first names such as Tiger Woods, Wolf Blitzer, and Robin Williams etc. could you kind people out there help me by adding others.
(I do have 8 more but if I gave them out then it wouldn't be as much fun for those trying to help me.)

Thanks
Ben Moore

PS I will take it upon myself to do all the Judging, Rulemaking and list compiling (since I did start this game) and I promise to be fair.

good one Phoenix...Kitty Kelly (Cat Stevens I had and even though he changed his name it still works because there was a Cat Stevens once) Bulldog drummond and the other names from SCoates and General Tsao won't work because (as I forgot to mention) one of the rules is that it can't be a fictional charactor. And thanks D'artagnan but Cardinal is a Title not a first name. Keep them coming please.

Ben
PS one of the other rules was no repetition such as (I can only use one Robin) Robin Williams and Robin Leach.. (it doesn't matter which one I have on my list but I perfer the most famous) thanks again.

The list so far.....no reason not to post what I have so far
Tiger Woods
Wolf Blitzer
Robin Williams
Cat Stevens
Jay Leno
Marlin Perkins (a fish)
Merlin Olsen (a bird, type of raptor)
Ray Charles (a fish)
Martin Sheen (a bird)
Butterfly McQueen
Kitty Kelly (thanks to Phoenix32890)

I did have Bear Bryant on my list but one other rule I forgot to mention was no nicknames (Quotation marks is a good clue of a nickname) and his name was Paul "Bear" Bryant. That is also why Bill "Bull" Halsey doesn't work either.

Catfish Hunter is a Good one Joe Nation, but I believe Mustang Sally is fictional.
2 good ones from Coluber 2001 Bat Masterson and Peewee Reese (who knew Peewee was a bird Laughing I didn't until I just now looked it up.)

By the way the reason names like Catfish Hunter , Bat Masterson and Tiger Woods works is that even though they were not born with those names they are not nicknames since their original first names are never included when talking about them so they have become known as Catfish, Bat or Tiger with no quotation marks.

Thanks again
Ben
