Instantly then, as a devoted speedreader, “What a dangerous job that must be," i wondered, just how many females have held the position, and why more than one had died last month; who were the others, whether hers was the easy way out or the more difficult, and whether there might have been a common cause of some sort of which the next female applicant should be made aware!
All right, for anyone puzzled at this point, even a slower-goer might reread it, watching for that missing comma. With a barrel of guffaw I am,

Don't get me started! I get bugged by the reports of all the people who sadly die. Not to mention the people who will hopefully get better. But, as I think you have observed, commas are falling out of favour these days.
