What kind of gift would you give to your husband for his birthday?

Something he's into. Does he have a hobby? Collection? Maybe something sentimental and not too big. Or maybe a new video game if he plays any. Is he a business type? Maybe some shiny new shoes or a fancy watch or a wallet. Does he like music? Ask if he has a favorite instrument to get clues. Maybe an old rock album of his favorite band.
