I'm flying from the US to Canada. What is the liquor allowance, that is how many bottles of wine may I bring in to Canada?

Well, this seems to be the law in Ontario:

Liquor

Special quotas apply. Visitors aged 19 or over may import to Canada duty-free a total of 1.1 litres (40 ounces) of liquor or wine, or twenty-four 355 ml. (12-ounce) cans/bottles of beer, ale, or their equivalent.

The thing is, different provinces have different rules, and all involve paperwork. I would suggest contacting Canada Customs (now Canada Revenue) to be absolutely sure: http://canadainternational.gc.ca/CI/contact_us-en.htm

Well maybe I missed it but I scoured that Canada site and found everthing BUT liquor! I guess 24 cans of beer would mean I could bring two bottles of wine?

I suppose. You could try to call them, but if you are in a hurry to find out, don't bother. You would be better off not bringing anything, and picking it up at the duty free shop when you get here.

Thank you Cav. AirCanada had the same answer. You were absolutely right, 40 oz. of wine. Most wine bottles seem to hold 25 point something so that means one bottle. Oh well...
