Am I correct that a filter of some kind was applied to give the "misty" look? I don't know much about photography so forgive me if I am wrong!

yes, you are right, the cam I took the pic is a manual one and I added a special lense to it, plus I usually finnis my pics in photoshop which has great filters

Have you ever seen the 60 Minutes piece on Finland? One of the funniest damn things I have ever seen.
It might not be as funny to people that aren't familiar with the Finnish people, but I have a lot of Finnish friends and found it wildly entertaining.
Check it out if you get the chance.
I got lots more, but am saving them to publish them later on my own web page (which I've been at it for at least 4 months LOL)
