I came threw this sentence "We are less fit than 50 years ago because obesity was less of a problem then."

I can't understand the grammar behind " was less of a problem then"

can someone explain it for me please?

@fastodigama,
The problem is obesity. There were fewer people 50 years ago than now.

1. "came threw" is not English.

2. "less of a problem" means "a smaller problem"
