Most of us have used Aluminum Foil in cooking and Food Prep and Preservation.
Usually the foil has a shiny side and a matte-finish side.
The shiny side reflects light better... but does it affect how the foil reflects direct heat?
Short answer is yes, but not very much.
The practical difference would be hard to notice without some serious lab gear.
Lol! And here am I always putting shiny side in! (So it cooks faster)
Or, it doesn't spark more (not that I think it does....)
I'm sure, you'll find a scientific answer in the
Aluminium Reference Library - but I don't think, there's anything better than Adrian said in one sentence
Always put the shiny side out when making tinfoil hats, this confuses the aliens.
Uh, what were we talking about again?
Forgot to put on your hat this morning, dear?
It shorts out if my hair is wet. Gotta watch out fer that.
There's aluminium with a black site and a shiny site as well:
for hats, the shiny site is of course to be put outsite; for cooking, the black one.
