Can I Charge A 9V Battery if the input is continuously getting on and off.

I want to charge a 9V Battery but the problem is that the input is not continuous because i have to use from the output from the coil and magnet, will it work for me to connect directly the connection of coil terminals to the battery will it be charged.

I'd suppose not because the battery would discharged by the coil whenever the magnet is still

The usu thing is a rectifier to shut off the current during those periods. Also I'd suppose it to be a full-wave rectifier if pulling the magnet back out reverses polarity
