YES it is very important - otherwise you cannot put words together into an understandable sentence

@deepak saini,
NO, Deep, it is most assuredly not. After a lifetime in the field of journ, I remember hardly any grammar. Better to just persist in your comms with only casual attention to the supposed rules

@dalehileman,
May I ask you how a foreigner will learn another language without knowing about grammar? You learned it by being corrected by parents and teachers.
How will you tell something if you do not know the questions words are used in front of a quesiton? And which ones they are?
How will you be able to tell a story if you do not know future, presens, imperfekt etc of verbs?
What will your language sound like if you do not know about irregular verbs?
His and he´s sounds the same and certainly mean something else.

And remember hardly one "rule"

Me, today, now

"His" and '"he's" sound the same but each certainly means something different

What is comm w/ Brits an Yanks mean? communicate, commas

When you know a language you do not have to remember the rules anymore.
You know how to use.

Yes but how often does a foreigner hear words?

Fine but take a person from day one till up to 15 years to really be good in their own language - hearing for hours and using it for hours every day.
How will a foreigner who might have 2 - 4 hours a week - not counting vacation then learn - eventually?

turning an old guy ob
What on earth does ob mean.

Note to the Programming Community: ....and the B is next to the N
What does this mean?

I think we learn most of what we need from educated (or otherwise) parents and siblings. Somewhere around our 5th or 6th year of school, we learn rules that explain why we speak the way we do. Those rules also help us win arguments.

What you'z got grammatical needs worry got heavy warrant absolute tidy generate?

If you can't understand that, then you probably would prefer a more grammatically correct question.

@deepak saini,
You can communicate basic needs with very little understanding of grammar. After all, that's how children get along.
But, if you desire adult interaction, you need to apply yourself.

The use of correct English grammar is important in order to avoid misunderstandings. If you make so many mistakes while writing or speaking English then this thing will slow down your communications. It is very hard to express the ideas and thoughts clearly if you are making so many language mistakes. Moreover nobody is going to tell you that you’re making mistakes. If you want to improve your grammatical mistakes, then I suggest you a best institute that help you to improve your communication skills. English-Pro provides best English Speaking Courses from basics level to high advanced level.

@dalehileman,
Yankees are seen as a negative word for Americans in some countries. Do not teach people to use that word.
For the older generation - which you belong to - the Americans saved them from the Nazis.
The Yankess came showing off whith their money and getting the girls.

Please use a correct language and stop all your shortenings when having to do with foreigners. It is unfair to your language and look stupid.

@saab,
If you write garbled prose like, (well, let's just call him Bill, no that's too obvious, how about Mr RM,) as often as not you'll write a sentence that means the exact opposite of what you intended.

If that's pointed out you have two options, you can accept you made a mistake, or go off on some paranoid rant about how somebody must have hacked into your account thus diminishing your credibility below its dizzy subterranean heights.

You're right, Dahl's abbreviations are a right pain in the arse.

@dalehileman,
I don't, it's not me I'm worried about. As Saab pointed out there are non native speakers on this forum so you should try to use words. You know, English words, like the rest of us use.

@dalehileman,
I only use it when I want someone to understand me, like when a policeman pulls you over during traffic. It comes in handy.

I find grunts don't convey the concept that I really don't care to be locked up, thank you very much.
