Abuzz is still up and running... and working as fine as in its best times... (Loading the One-Word-thread still takes endless, though)

It's so weird... I feel like sitting next to the bed of an old person who's gonna die soon... part of me wants the person's sufferign to be over and almost shouts "Die! Die!", the other part doesn't want to part...
Okay, it is official now - Abuzz has closed down, all you get is a notice about the discontinuing of the service.
Abuzz is history; let us keep it in memory the way it was when it was best.
This statement from the shut down notice really sticks in my craw.
"The service was ended due to limited resources for maintaining a quality, moderated community site".
They had not maintained a moderated community service in over two years. That is why Abuzz went into the sewer.
Yeah, so it's true what they're saying. The insight just comes a bit late, don't you think?
Anyway, what sticks otu more in my eyes is that they're pretty much lying about the date...

I just tried to log on to Abuzz and got the message "Service Unavailable." I'm assuming that this is the end, although I could just have a bad connection.
Seems like it got shut down about 5 p.m. eastern, blacksmithn.

Actually, Emily's ears are rather normal... but she's a hamster :-) She's a small animal... so normal hamster ears mean small ears :-)

Evening all. Can I claim status as an Abuzz refugee and apply for government assistance? I had to leave all my clothes and luggage behind (no room in the lifeboat)! I offered to throw somebody overboard so I could at least take a suitcase.....
I woke in the middle of the night last evening, remembering that there was one particular abuzz thread I had forgotten to save (some wonderful writing by Playgerist). With glee I discovered the site still open when I got up this morning.
I didn't save a single thread, sad to say. On the other hand, I didn't look at them much when Abuzz was up and I had ready access to them.
