@maxdancona,
awwww, Thats fantastic. Two of me favorite foods are scallops and bacon. The scallops MUST be dry packed. (most supermarkets liberally douse their scallops with polyphosphate salt solution to bulk up on water content) This adds a disagreeable "soapy" flavor and the damn things will never brown.
I always keep track of the fishmongers who only sell "Dry pack" scallops and , even though its often 1.75% X more in cost, Its worth it in flavor and texture.
They brown nicely and the flavor is sweet and scallopy.

MMMMMMMM.

Im still convalescing but I need some scallops NOW.

@maxdancona,
The fool has said to his brain, "there is no science" they are uneducated, their deeds are delusional, not one of them makes any sense...

@Amoh5,
Mate we have omnivore teeth which implies a partially carnivore dentition...
...the problem is not eating meat but how much of it you eat.

@Fil Albuquerque,
Have you seen the video? Professor Campbell said he is a vegan because of this issue. What part of the word "vegan" don't you understand. This man is a real scientist in biochemistry, watch the video...

@Amoh5,
He could be Stephen Hawking for all that I care...I told you its a matter of quantity not of not touching it. Meat should be used just on rare occasions, at most 1/4 of the meals you do, less if possible. Of course for knowing that I need no bloody science expert just common sense.

@Amoh5,
Has he published his findings in a scientific magazine? Or in a well-renowned scientific magazine like Science, Nature or Lancet?
If not, I'd laugh it off.

@oristarA,
I believe the scientific evidence supports the idea that eating meat decreases your life by a few years (I think the number is 3.5 years). But who cares?

If the choice is between 85 years with bacon wrapped scallops or 88.5 with tofu, it's not a very tough decision.

@maxdancona,

That is a good bargain, Max.
But more courage may be required from you:

Bacon causes cancer, according to the WHO

The World Health Organization just officially declared that bacon, hot dogs, and other preserved meats cause cancer. 22 international experts reviewed over 800 studies to produce the new report, which classifies processed meats alongside other known carcinogens such as cigarettes, alcohol, asbestos and arsenic. The report is expected to receive vigorous backlash from the United States beef industry, which brings in $95 billion each year.

I tried to watch that first video, but that joker Campbell is one really crappy public speaker. I did note, that in the portion i watched, he never once talked about the human body being corrupted.

@izzythepush,
Not at all Izzy, I just get irritated by these science worshippers(wannabe scientists I would say) who think they know it all even towards Phd scientists who are the real deal. I do think there is a bias in their dumb charading tones.
I do feel that it is a very important topic because it refers to our health, I'm not an animal lover so there is no emotional sentiment in my motivation for this topic, just physical well-being. Yes, I am aware there are people on A2k that don't give a dam about their health or how long they will last in this world, and quite frankly I don't give a dam. I'm only worried about myself and people who may care about their health.
But I do think it is a really interesting revealation from American Biochemist Dr Campbell, not to mention the controversy a revealation like this would cause.
But humans will always look for reasons to interact with one another. But Izzy, I find it hilarious when these people try and discredit a Biochemical scientist to discredit me. Very bizzare but somehow amusing.
Those videos that you recommended of Rik Mayall, they are extraordinary classics. It's sad we have lost so great an entertainer such as Mayall, very British very funny...
