Adding an outlet in basement to an existing circuit fo upstairs bedroom

I purchased a powerline adapter to extend my wired internet. They say it's best to have them plugged into outlets on the same circuit. My modem and router are in the basement, my bedroom is on the 2nd floor opposite side of the house as router and modem, 3rd floor if you count the basement as a floor. I am wondering if you can install an outlet in the basement and have it wired to the existing circuit my bedroom outlets are on?

@Fresco420,
Sure, but it is probably easier to run a cat 5e line from your bedroom to the basement and just plug directly into your router without doing the powerline thing. You will get much better service too.
