How to stop prostitution

Sat 27 Feb, 2016 09:03 pm
The spirit of Ama said that to stop prostitution, we do not patronize it. I believe Him. No demand, no sale.
1. It is a sin because God knows what we do. We have our free will. We can do whatever we would like to do on earth, including denying Him. God will settle account with us on Judgment Day.
2. According to Ama. women are all the same. So a Miss Universe and a seller in the marketplace are the same.
3. We may pick up venereal disease.
4. Spend the money to your wife and family instead.
5. The woman may say that you are slow. Hurry up, please!
6. Domestic violence against women.

Do you have anymore suggested advantages?

@peacecrusader888,
That's very simplistic for a very common issue. Sex is in almost everybody's genes; it's called nature or natural. It seems younger teenagers are engaging in sex. Education is the best way to teach about sex.

@peacecrusader888,
One of the main social functions of religion is a regulator of the sexuality we have in common with other primates. Humans have a concept of 'consequences' and that awareness generates the authoritarian religious myths, such as yours, which attempt to deal with them.

Just because you teach about sex in school wont stop prostitution.
If certain types of relligion wants to regulate sex is one thing but prostitution is something else. As a rule it involves criminality, pimps, drugs, blackmailing,money and gambling and some of its worst Childpornography and prostitution.
In Sweden it is illigal to buy sex - not to sell it. Very good but now people can report someone for going to a prostitute who never was there - just to ruin his reputation
There is now with the open borders within EU much more trafficing. Girls are lured to west EU, their passports taken away, they are raped, beaten and forced to prostitution.

In the internet circulate videos with childpornography. With children down to a few months old.
Yes sex is part of our life - but not in form of prostitution.
And there the OP is very naive in how he is asking the question

What about sex with animals? If I have sex with a goat, does that animal become unclean? Or maybe just the butt part (which nobody would wish to eat anyhow)?

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when one of these Ama teachers are having a bit of free time.

I give odds of 2/1 that they would get up a frog if it stopped hopping.

@saab,
Prostitution is the oldest profession. It's prevalent in countries where a war has destroyed most of its economy. Humans must eat, and that includes sex. That's the reason why war and prostitution goes hand in hand.

@cicerone imposter,
There is a big differenc between prostitution where it is a way to survive and when some crimial men and pimps forces women to prostitution so they can make money
The women usually do not make anything.

@saab,
If two adults agree to exchange sex for money, with no pimps involved, both parties treating the other with respect and with all of the money going to the prostitute, do you see a problem with that?

@maxdancona,
Some call that 'marriage'. Although payment is usually made at the end of the transaction instead of upfront.

The only pimps involved are the lawyers.

Some have the mental inclination to think of others as objects. The remedy for this condition has not been universally applied in spite of having been plainly available for 1000s of years.

@Leadfoot,
Payment is made for one's life time. It's never 'one' payment.

@neologist,
What do you mean by "think of others as objects"?

Paying for services rendered is something that happens all the time in our society. We have prostitutes and dentists and hairdressers, all of them are people we pay for the service they offer.

I am sure that you pay people for services, Neologist. I would think that how you treat them or think of them is up to you.

When it comes to sex, sort of like:
An orofice surrounded by a life support system.

@maxdancona,
There are sugardaddies, there are men who like to show off with very elegant and goodlookiing women, there are men who like to have a mistress who really has time for them.
Uusally these men have a good position in life and money.I do not mind that arrangement. It is as a rule one man and one woman. Not like prostitiution.

@neologist,
And do you view the person you pay to cut your hair as a "pair of hands surrounded by a life support system"? What about the person who brews you coffee?

There are lots of people who you pay to provide services. The extent to which you acknowledge their humanness is up to you.

Oh... so the problem is when one man has sex with more than one woman?

What about when one woman has sex with more than one man? This is quite common in modern times among the young and single (or middle-aged and single) even when there is no direct exchange of money for sex involved.

I think in modern times, having casual sex is rather common with single unattached people. I don't see any moral problem with that.

Is this really what this is about?

Good point.
We can't say no war no prostitution. But no war will lead to less prostitution.

@maxdancona,
You may have noticed I was not referring to all.
But when it comes to sexuality, there is an old saying:
Quote:
An aroused libido has no conscience.
(Earthier language may sometimes be used.)
