can someone please help me with this middle eastern painting/ recognize the signature????

I have purchased this middle eastern-looking painting, and I was wondering if anyone can give me some information about it (who the artist is, where exactly it originates from, approximate age, worth etc.). It looks to be gouache on paper and it looks to be signed, but the signature is illegible. It measures approximately 8" x 6" (image area). Any information would be much appreciated!!

It is painted in a very today style, without any artistic value, as I see. I don't think anybody can name the artist for the simple reason he can't be an artist. But I say don't be sad because as for your icon (your other topic), it seems to be very archaic.

Its 20th century, Indian, and not worth a great deal, it was printed in the hundreds of thousands for a celebration.

But framed, re matted and straightened up it makes a nice little decorator piece and has to be worth $125/$150.
