@Blickers,
Exactly!
UK manufacturing will sky-rocket.

Example - We will be able to purchase cheaper steel from China and sell ALL steel-based goods for less cost.

Atm - Chinese steel is virtually banned from the EU.

We'll X10 our exports on price alone.

And that goes for all commodities.

Excellent idea! The British steel industry and their workers will like that!

@Walter Hinteler,
It's not an idea, Walter.
It's reality.

@Walter Hinteler,
Salmon-farmers won't have to spend a fortune on EU labels that read "Warning - Contains FISH".

World's 6th biggest economy (post-brexit). I guess so.

@mark noble,
really? I'll have to look into that.

I obviously don't have that positive sense of British products.

@Walter Hinteler,
Quote Blickers:

So do you know for a fact that those branches are going to be closed because of the Brexit? We have foreign car makers operating factories and branches over here too and we were never in the EU.

Responded Walter:
Quote:
Would be a disaster, if Rolls Royce, Bentley and Mini (all 100% German) would be closed.*

Those 400,000 are the number of employees in 'real' German industry branches in the UK

You didn't really answer my question. You don't know for a fact that those German owned factories in the UK would be shut down as a result of the Brexit, and plenty of foreign car makers have factories in the US, and we were never part of the EU.

Due to the Brexit discussion, the Tata crisis came a bit in the background, it seems. That's more or less the only remaining steel manufacturer left, currently employs 15,000 in the UK.

No, they wouldn't be shut down. But have difficulties with their supply and costs.

@ehBeth,
2013 numbers, but this will give you an idea of the UK manufacturing capacity.

http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah279/LeviStubbs/Manufacturing%20leading%20countries%20stats_zpsxje9sfqe.jpg

In 2013, the UK manufactured more than India. The UK, despite a solid manufacturing sector, is known more for its financial services than its manufacturing. The UK's overall economy is not much less than Germany's, but you can see that Germany's manufacturing sector is three times larger than the UK's.

@Walter Hinteler,
Interesting. A couple of American vehicle manufacturers are in the process of leaving Canada - moving to China and Mexico - because of manufacturing costs.

Ron Paul wrote:

Actually, the analogy would be: "rule for England would be better from London, rules for Wales from Cardiff, rule for Scotland from Edinburgh" - and that's what many want but what wasn't asked in this referendum.

@Walter Hinteler,
Nigel Farage, the Ukip leader, has just finished addressing the European parliament - he said that none of the other MEPs had ever done a proper day’s work.

This applies to any career politician. They don't do anything but take bribes.
