I went on to the amazon.com website in order to purchase a paper shredder. To my surprise I found offerings of Amazon brand paper shredders being sold by Amazon.
Does Amazon now manufacture items? Hire manufacturers to produce the items?

OK. I previously thought that 1) Amazon lists merchandise that it purchases from other firms with the name of the manufacturer on the item, and 2) that it allows others (you and me) to list items that we own for sale on the site.
