GOING TO JAIL OVER A CAR BACK UP ALARM?!

How long does this alarm last? I can't imagine it lasts more than a few seconds as you back up.

Your neighbors are teasing you. Ignore them.

If you are still worried, call your local police department and find out if a complaint can be filed over a backup car alarm.

I'd agree - your neighbors are enjoying you being stressed about something so dumb.

In any case, the worse thing would be a fine - no one is arrested for something like that.

To ease your stress, I would do as punkey suggests - call your local police. They can let you know if there is even a fine (which I doubt). I would imagine for something so minor, the police would come over and talk with you first to see if you could disarm or change the alarm if it was really that bad.

If you neighbors even filed anything or logged a complaint with the police, you can get this information. You might have to go to the station, but you can get a copy of whatever they complained about. (from personal experience as I once had a crazy neighbor and had to deal with stupid crap like this many years ago).

Thank you very much for responding! Yes, you're right. It only last for a few second when reversing. It usually activates in the morning and lastly, in the evening around 2PM when my uncle goes to work. There were times they would intentionally block us from reversing so, the back up alarm would sound longer by parking horizontally leaving little space for us to vertically back out of our driveway while someone would record the noise from the inside of their home. We had to wait until they move their vechile. My uncle back up alarm sound isn't like the typical back up alarm that has a loud beep like an alarm clock - it sound ice cream truck (instrumental) which I think they are classifying it as LOUD AMPLIFIED MUSIC. They keep treatening us that they take possesion of our home & sell/break ALL of our personal belongings; make us homeless. What worse is that we live between them and their in-law family house down the street. They've changed their WiFi names into: "BrightDeer", "TallEagle" and recently NEW "DizzyTiger". I hope everything will turn out fine or until we find a better place to move to.

That's exactly what my family members have been trying to tell me too. The police would come over to give out warnings to make the noise stop or mail us a warning letter to inform us about the issue. It's been really difficult for me to fully concentrate on school work while worry over this matter for a very long time. Now, I can sleep peacefully at night.
