Anybody remember a 50's sci fi movie where...

I do recall a movie like that. located up in the ice and snow..maybe North Pole. Does this jibe with your memory?

I can't recall the name or who was in it either.

or the 1982 remake with Kurt Russell, called The Thing

I think there have been 3 movies, the original in the 50's and two remakes in later years. I attended a family gathering and my male cousins were discussing old movies, that was the one we were trying to explain to the the others. I brought a copy of "The Loved One" for my cousin Jim, apparently quite a few of my cousins are fond of off-beat movies. I didn't know, I thought it was just me.

It must be either "The Quatermass Xperiment" or "X the Unknown".
